Old fashioned Christmas at Blyth Public School The annual Christmas Concert at Blyth Public School will be held in the gym on Wednesday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m. All the pupils will participate in an Old Fashioned Christmas Concert. Speechless Getting to see Santa can leave a guy speechless as young John Battye found out when he got a chance to sit on Santa’s knee Saturday in Blyth. Hundreds of youngsters lined up to see Santa in his annua! visit, sponsored by the Blyth Lions Club. Blyth. People There were eight tables of euchre in play at the weekly euchre party at Blyth Memorial Hall Dec. 4. Alice Buchanan was high lady while Murray Scrimgeour was high man. Ida Procter and Eldon Crich had the low scores. Rena Watt and Ted Mills had the most lone hands. The special prize was won by Mae Pepper. Kathy Bromley and Jeff Wittich had the high scores in Lost Heir card party at Memorial Hall Dec. 6. Ella Richmond and Lloyd Walden had the low scores. Mary Holland won the special prizes. There were seven tables in play. This was the last Lost Heir party until the new year. Mr. and Mrs. Doug McVittie, David and Christina of Burlington and Bonnie and Karen Witte of London visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Hesselwood. Bayfield woman dies A Bayfield woman died Friday, December 1, at University Hospital in London as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident that occurred on Thursday, November 16 just south of Blvth. later to serious. Mrs. Hessel was the wife of Harry Hessel and the couple has three children Tyler, Tara, and Sarah. The dress rehearsal will be held that morning at 10 a.m. All the senior citizens in the community and parents who are not able to attend in the evening are invited to come to the dress rehearsal. NOTICE VILLAGE OF BLYTH 1990 WATER RATES Blyth Water Commission approved a monthly increase of $1.00 New Monthly Rate: Residential $8.00 Commercial $10.00 Wendy Hessel, 39, was south­ bound on highway 4 when she collided with a truck driven by Robert Bender of Stratford. Mr. Bender had swerved to avoid a van that had pulled onto the highway, when he collided with Mrs. Hes- sel’s car. The van was driven by William Crawford of Port Elgin. All three victims were taken to Clinton Public Hospital and Mrs. Hessel was later transferred to University Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
