(Canada THE SECOND LANGUAGE by Jen Stadelmann and Melissa Ken- On Friday, November 24 grades 6, 7 and 8 went to Hullett Central School to be introduced to a man named Andrew Donaldson. An drew is the composer of the songs for the French Horizons pro gramme, which the grades 6, 7 and 8’s use. When we got there at 9:30 a.m. he introduced himself in French and continued to speak it for half the program. Later on he explain ed, in English, that he spoke French at first not to confuse us, but to see if we could understand him. He played the guitar while singing a few French songs and English songs which had been translated into French. Some of those songs were - “Vendredi”, “J’entends le moulin”, “Les sports” and others. Mr. Sygrove, Mr. Livermore, Mr. Hooftman and Miss Morgan accompanied us to Hullett. Thank You. ROBOTS by Patrick German and Brad Montgomery For the last few weeks the grade two students have been reading and writing robot stories. Last week they decided to make robots. They used materials from home and school. They included con struction paper, tissue paper rolls, egg cartons and boxes, big and small. When they were done the students wrote avertisements for their robts. Below are some of those ads. WATER CARRIER #5 My robot is useful. It carries water for you. All you have to do is clap your hands and it will bring you some water. By Bryce Toll ROBO GUARD Robo Guard is the robot for you. It guards your home. It has special arms. It barks and barks if the owners are home and there are burglars. By Dean Wilson DRINKBOT Drinkbot can give you a drink if it is hot outside. It can give you some food too. It can make your bed and it can make breakfast for you too. This robot - you need it. By Jennifer Godfrey and Julie Ritchie. CALL CITIZEN CLASSIFIED AT 523-4792 OR 887-9114 24 Ho\RS A DAY
