Early in the second period the Walkerton team tied the score but the Bulls soon chalked up four more goals. The final score was 7-4, the seventh win for the Bulls. Both teams came flying out of the gates with the action going end to end. At the six minute mark of the first period Jeff Cowan opened the scoring with a great individual effort getting Blyth on the score­ board. The last three minutes of the first period belonged to Mitchell as they stormed back with three unanswer­ ed goals. Blyth lost the game in the second period as they fell apart defensive­ ly, and got out-scored by 6 to 1. Jeff Cowan picked up his second goal on a hard shot with Jason Badley and Jerimiah Hamm getting the assists. Blyth re-grouped after the second period break, and came out a much better team. Blyth scored the only two goals in the third period. Jeff Cowan scored a hat- trick set up by Mike Courtney forBulls lose to Barons, beat Blackhawks The Brussels Bulls remain in second place after weekend Junior C action with a record of seven wins, three losses and two ties. Friday night in Hanover the Bulls lack of muscle showed as the 'hometown Barons simply outhit the Juniors for a 6-J Hanover win. Steve Fritz opened the scoring two minutes into the game with assists to Andrew Henderson and Craig King. Hanover tied the score 28 seconds later, took the lead late in the period and upped their lead to 4-1 in the second period before Jason Kraemer set up Bevin Flett on the powerplay at 15:42. Hanover notched a shorthanded goal early in the third period while Kevin DeJong ended the Bulls scoring on a pass from Henderson. A late Baron powerplay goal set the Bulls home with their third defeat of the season. Hanover outshot Brussels 48 - 30. Kevin DeJong was named the games third star. Hanover showed how they have won five consecutive league championships by playing “baron” hockey, forechecking strongly and playing the man at every opportunity. Sunday afternoon Brussels re­ bounded with a 7-4 win over the visiting Walkerton Blackhawks. Walkerton opened the scoring on the powerplay. Andrew Henderson tied the game with assists to Bevin Flett and Strome and the Bulls took the lead on a Jamie Gibbings point shot set-up by Andrew Weber. Walkerton tied the score early in the second before Brussels clicked for four goals in a five minute span for a 6-2 lead. Steve Vandendool set up Brett Martin at 4:18 then scored himself on a pass from Bevin Flett at 7:44. Flett and Corey McKee then combined to set up Ron Strome at 8:51 while Martin notched his second of the period from McKee and Marty Rutledge to end the Bulls onslaught. Walkerton ended the second period scoring summary and open­ ed the scoring in the third to close to within 6-4. Ron Strome scored his second of the game from Rutledge and Henderson to seal the win. The Blackhawks outshot the Bulls 39-33. The Bulls are at home for a rare Friday night game this week when the Mount Forest Patriot’s skate into town for a 9:00 p.m. match. Sunday night the Bulls are on the road when they travel to Arthur to play the Grand Valley Harvesters. Blyth’s third goal. Mike Courtney finished the scoring in the game as he found himself all alone in front of the Mitchell goalie on a nice set-up by Mike Haggitt. Blyth got out-muscled in this game by the score of 9 to 4, but plan to battle back this Thursday night Nov. 23 as Seaforth comes to Blyth at 7 p.m. in what should be a good hockey game.
