Huron likely to get replacement for One Stop Access The One Stop Access program once promised for Huron County won’t be coming but a new, similar plan will, if written confirmation is received, says Dr. Maarten Bok- hout, Huron County Medical Offi­ cer of Health. “We’ve got verbal assurances (of approval), but we need confir­ mation in writing before we can put this into action,’’ said Dr. Bokhout. The program, which has an estimated annual budget of about $100,000, will be wholly funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health. The money will be administered bv the e Ministry of Community and Social Services,, and “we'll look after operating the program," said Dr. Bokhout. The program will include a single phone number that county resi­ dents can call for information about various services offered, such as Town and Country Homemakers, the Victoria Order of Nurses, Paramed, Family and Children’s Services and so on. Dr. Bokhout says he also hopes to see an assessment tool (“like a questionnaire") developed that can be used by virtually all agencies involved in the program. And the various agencies will "work together to identify areas where there ar? gaps in service, and work to fill those gaps." "There’s a certain component of networking in this," he added. The original version of One-Stop Access is “dead everywhere," he said, adding that it never really got off the ground. It included “single­ entry access to health and social services," meaning that residents could make one phone call and get information or help; a single; governing body that would ensure that all programs needed under the One-Stop Access would be put into Obituaries GEOFFREY JAMES WOOLLETT Geoffrey James Woollett of RR 2, Wroxeter, died at Wingham and District Hospital on Nov. 9, 1989. He was 55 years of age. Mr. Woollett was born in Dover, Kent, England.
