Brussels Bulls still on top with 5 wins out of 8
The Brussels Bulls continue to
surprise in their maiden year of Jr.

to five wins, one loss, and two ties
after weekend action.

not discouraged
by slow start at Clinton
The Brussels Pre-Novice team
travelled to Clinton for their first
game of the new season.
It started out to be a slow start
for the Brussels team as Clinton
scored all the goals in the first two
periods. With a lot of hard work
and determination the Brussels
team finally made it on the score
board. Mathew McLellan scored on
a pass from Nolan Krotz and Chad

remaining in the contest.
The Bulls travelled to Mount
Forest the following night for the
Patriot’s home opener and in one of
natures ironic twists were outscor-

tan’s turn from Andy Van Beek and
Chris Coulter. Brussels final goal of
this game was notched by Joel
Kellington on passes from Andy
Van Beek and Mathew McLellan.
Considering two players on the
Clinton team got all their goals,
this Brussels team did not seem the
least bit discouraged when the
score ended 16-3.
Until November 15,1989 you can receive
ed, outhustled, outskated, out-
everything to the tune of 10-0.
Mount Forest fired five powerplay

Brussels home with their first set
back of the year.
Friday night the Bulls skated into
Walkerton and returned home with
a 7-4 victory. Marty Rutledge
quickly opened the scoring at 1:26
on a setup from Steve Vandendool.
Walkerton replied 25 seconds later
but Brussels returned the favour
when Corey McKee scored his
first, as a Bull, 30 seconds later on
passes from Brett Martin and
Kevin DeJong. Craig King and
Rutledge combined to set up a

of the season.
Sunday afternoon the Bulls blew
a two-goal lead and skated to a 3-3
tie with the visiting Hanover Bar

pass from Corey McKee. A short-
handed Hanover effort tied the
score before Kevin DeJong from
Jeff Coulter and Dwaine Nicholls
broke the tie with 27 seconds
remaining in the first period action.
The game remained 2-1 until
midway through the third when J.
C. Hewitt increased the lead to 3-1.

later and scored the equalizer with
three minutes remaining. Murray
Foxton faced 26 shots while the
