Seniors plan Nov. activities held Thursday, the Wingham - 4 p.m. There of craft items, “V BY GLORIA WORKMAN October was a blurr of activity at the Seniors Day Centre (Day Cen­ tre for the Homebound). There were a variety of activities planned to keep the participants of the centre involved. We have been and will be some more, very involved in preparing for our annual Craft and Bake Sale. This sale will be November 23 at Armouries from 2 will be all kinds baked goods for sale along with some refreshments. Drop by the Armouries on Nov. 23 and support the Day Centre. We will be showing a film during the week of Nov. 7-9. In prepara­ tion for the Craft and Bake Sale, we are going to make chocolates from Nov. 14 - 16. We are going to make some pies on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The next foot clinics are schedul­ ed for November 1 and Nov. 16 from 1 - 3 p.m. The foot clinics are provided by Community Nursing Services for a nominal fee. Please call the Day Centre at 357-1440 for an appointment. A Free Hearing Clinic, a new program at the centre will be held Monday, November 13 from 10 - 12 and 1 - 3 p.m. The service is provided by Beltone of Stratford. Between May 11 and 15, 1989 the Proplastex Ltd. plant in Ste­ phen township was broken into and S275 in cash, two pocket calculators and a quantity of papermate pens were taken. The message was entitled “God's Challenge to Us’’ and it was based on the scriptures Leviti­ cus 19, St. John 15 (9-12) and I Cor. 13:13. It centered on the theme of being a Christian and how it means living love day by day. Jesus said that the greatest commandment was “Love God and Love your Neighbour’’. All other command­ ments can be summed up in this one. To fulfil this from day to day, Mr. Cowan said that we must be kind, understanding, take time to find out what people are like before we judge them and try to avoid prejudices. We should take the time to thank people, compliment each other and remember a lonely person at a special time of the year and invite them to our home. Also we can offer our time and talents towards church and community work. FRESH!
