Thanksgiving”.
Bible Study and Prayer Group
will meet Friday, Oct. 13 at 1:15
p.m. at the Snihurs’.
Special anniversary services will
be held next Sunday, October 15.
Rev. Dave Snihur will preach at
11:15 a.m. while at the 8 p.m.
service, Rev. Charles Scott will
preach. Music is by Mitchell Gos
pel Singers. There will be a congre
gational meeting on'Sunday, Oct.
29 after the service.

Hospital will speak on her trip to
China.

Institute meeting is at the hall on
Wednesday, October 11 at 8 p.m.
U.C.W. members are invited
guests. Guest speaker is Donna
Johnston of Clinton. She will show

Hullett holds
public meeting
on Nov. 6
George Collins, Allan Craig and
James Schneider, who are Trustees
from Auburn and Secretary Harry
Arthur and Steven Popp attended a
special meeting of Hullett Town
ship Council on September 26 to
discuss the proposed Community
Improvement Plan for the village of
Auburn.
The improvements will be made
under the PRIDE program due to
the $70,000 grant received from the
Ontario Government. The township
will equal the amount and must
submit plans to the Ministry by
November. Henry Centen of R. J.
Bumside and Associates of Strat
ford presented the plan for the
village.
Following a motion by Deputy-
Reeve Joe Gibson, Council agreed
to hold a public meeting on
November 6 at the Auburn Hall at 8
p.m. to discuss the plan.
At a previous meeting on Sep
tember 19 an extension of Byers
Street in Alma that is presently
under construction should be main
tained by the township as of
September 15, 1989. In addition the
existing Edward St. and Byers St.
will continue to be maintained by
Hullett until completion

Congratulations to newlyweds
Darlene Smith and Keith Sisson
who were married Saturday at the
Ethel United Church.
Beth Earl was a recipient of a
Huron County Junior Farmers Rur
al Leadership Award. Beth is
involved in 4H club work and was
nominated by the Ethel Women’s
Institute.
Seventy-five W.I. ladies attend
ed the Huron County Rally held at
the Ethel Hall on October 2.
Sympathy is extended to Isabel
and George Pearson on the passing
of Isabel’s brother Jerry Cardiff.

Theofficial opening of Ball’s Bridge just outsideof Auburn took
placeon October 6. A large crowd gathered to watch the ribbon
cutting ceremony and attend the dedication ceremonies held at
the Auburn garage. Cutting the ribbon are from left: Murray
Cardiff MP; Steve Killaire, Municipal engineer for the Ministry
of Transportation; Jack Riddell MPP; Dave Johnston, Warden
of Huron County; and Lionel Wilder, chairman of the Huron
County Road Committee.
