A speedy recovery is wished to Gladys Ellsmore, a patient in London Hospital. A very busy Ethel Women’s Institute meeting was held at the Ethel Hall Tuesday evening, Sept. 12. Delegates were nominated for the county rally to be held in the Ethel Hall on October 2 and to Guelph area convention in Mary hill. Joel Harris of the Blyth Festival spoke to the ladies on the differen ces between working with the arts in Ontario and British Columbia. Rural people don’t want a lot of sex or violence in the plays they view, but would rather see a show depicting life close to their life style. The euchre parties were set up for the coming year and assigned to each member. A new hall board representative from the Institute needs to be appointed for next term. A bus tour to the Festival of Lights is schedul ed for Dec. 2. A motion was made to change the October meeting to Oct. 11. An informal lunch followed adjournment of the meeting.
