HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 1989-09-13, Page 21Obituaries BRUCE HAINSTOCK ARMSTRONG Bruce Hainstock Armstrong of Adelaide St., Fordwich died at his home Sept. 7, 1989 surrounded by his family. He was bom in Molesworth, the son of the late Richard Armstrong and Elizabeth Hainstock. He married the former Ruby Elizabeth Harrifield who survives him. He was a loving father to Elizabeth and her husband David Schneider of Kitchener and is lovingly remem­ bered and sadly missed by two grandchildren, Mark and Barbara. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby and Edna. He was a farmer and belonged to Trinity Anglican Church, Ford­ wich, Ontario. A memorial service was held September 9, 1989 at the Betts Funeral Home, Gorrie Chapel with Rev. B. Clarke of Trinity Anglican Church officiating. Interment was in Fordwich cemetery. GLENN WILLIAM JARDINE Glenn William Jardine of 106 Kipling Rd., Hamilton, and former­ ly of Brussels died Sept. 1, 1989 in Hamilton. He was born in Brussels 56 years ago, the beloved son of Alma Jardine (now of Wingham) and the late William Jardine. He was a lineman with Ontario Hydro and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He married the former Mary Kathleen Gordon who survives him. Also surviving are Victoria (Vicky) Jardine of Kitchener, Rus­ sell Jardine of Monkton and step­ children Kelly Fahlenbock of Kit­ chener and Michael Fahlenbock and his wife Heather of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by one stepson Joseph Fhalenbock. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy McDonald of Brussels and Joyce Hodgins of Wingham. The funeral service was held Sept. 5, 1989 from the Betts Funeral Home, Gorrie with Rev. J. Hawkins of the Gorrie United Church officiating. Interment was in Gorrie Cemetery. On June 1, 1989 an unknown culprit shot a hole in a white coloured, Bell Telephone Box that was mounted on a tele­ phone poll on the 20-21 sideroad of Stephen Township, near lot 5. This type of activity could cause telephone failure and people would be unable to call emergency people such as the Fire Department, Ambulance or Police until the damage is repaired.
