The announcement was made at 10 p.m. following a farewell address by last year’s winner Miss Angela Nethery. Miss Cronyn, who is the daugh­ ter of John and Yvonne Cronyn was sponsored by The Citizen. First runner-up was Tracey Fischer of RR 3, Brussels. She was sponsored by Brussels Livestock Inc. Winning Miss Congeniality was Sandra Marks of RR 3, Brussels, who was sponsored by Majestic Women’s Institute. There were seven contestants competing in the event. The re­ mainder of the girls were: Pat Cowman of RR 2, Bluevale, who was sponsored by JR’s Texaco; Patricia Albers of RR 2, Bluevale, who was sponsored by Diesel Car Diner; Lori Willie of Brussels, who was sponsored by BMG Recreation Committee; and Heather McGavin of Walton, who was sponsored by Walton Women’s Institute. Bob Cunningham of Ethel was Master of Ceremonies during the presentation.
