Grubb Tax Collector NOTICE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF BLYTH I, Albert A. Wasson, Reeve of the Village of Blyth do hereby proclaim the week of September 17th to September 23rd to be Legion Week. Playwright Robert Clinton had two special fans on hand to seek his autograph when his newly published edition of “Mailorder Bride’’ was launched at the Bly th Book Store August 29. Irene and Leslie Clin ton of Saskatoon were on hand to be among the first in line to get their son’s autograph. The play opened for its second season at Blyth Wednesday before going on tour across Ontario. Albert A. Wasson Reeve Scout group makes plans 1st Blyth Group Committee Exe­ cutive met on Monday, August 28 at the home of Trish Thomson. Registration night for Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts was discussed. It will be Monday, Sept. 11, 7 - 8:00 in the Blyth Public School gym. Leaders and both sponsor repre­ sentatives from the Lions and Legion will be in attendance to answer any questions from par­ ents. It was decided that any family who could not afford the registra­ tion fee of $25 and/or the weekly dues of 50 cents could be sponsored by an individual, business, group or church. Anyone wishing to sponsor a boy in the Blyth Scouting program should contact Trish Thomson, 523-9723 or this year’s Chaplin, Dave Snihur, 523-4477. People Jack and Shirley Johnson of London visited on the weekend with Shirley’s parents, Gene and Alvin Snell and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bush of Toronto spent a weekend recently with Lloyd and Mary Walden, and attended the Westfield Church’s 100th anniversary. Bill helped out in the morning~with the music by rendering a solo. A social evening was enjoyed by all on August 19 at the home of Randy and Lorna Fraser in honor of Randy’s parents, Don and Melva. Several games of cards were enjoyed by the guests. After cards, Kathy Fraser said grace and lunch was served by Eilene Johnson and Blair and Joe Fraser. Don and Melva were married 35 years on September 4. Close friends present were Jim and Leonna Armstrong, Clarence and Marie McCutcheon, Ken and Lois Moore, Wallace and Jean Bell and Doug and Jean Evans.
