Obituaries ALICE MARIE ANSTAY Alice Marie Anstay, of Goderich, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London on Friday, Aug. 11, 1989. She was 76. Mrs. Anstay was a housewife and a member of North Street United Church. She was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 109, Goderich. She was bom in West Wawanosh Township on October 27, 1912 to the late William and Margaret (Buchanan) Govier. Mrs. Anstay is survived by her children, Yvonne and her husband Ernest Porter of Goderich; and Mary and her husband Floyd Westlake of Exeter. Also surviving are sisters, Mar­ garet Caldwell of Blyth; Viola Good of Goderich; Dorothy Lyndon of Brampton; and one brother, Robert Govier of Seaforth. Also surviving are two grand­ daughters, Shannon and Cheyenne Westlake. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Anstay; one son, William (1959); and one brother, Mervin Govier. The funeral service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 13, 1989. Rev. Robert Ball, of North Street United Church, officiated. The R.C.L. Ladies Auxiliary held a service at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home on Saturday even­ ing. Pallbearers were Randy Gaynor, Larry Gaynor, Rick Healy, Steve Dobie, Larry McDougal and Nelson Caldwell. Interment was at Mait­ land Cemetery. IDA LOUISE DURNIN Ida Louise Dumin of Huronview and formerly of Londesboro died on August 8 in Clinton Public Hospi­ tal. She was 85. Bom on May 7, 1904, in Hullett Township, she was the daughter of Harrison and Martha (Lear) Lyon. She was a member of the Londesboro United Church and the Londesboro UCW. She is survived by one son Mervyn and his wife Evelyn of RR 1, Hensail; and a daughter-in-law Marion Dumin of London. She is also survived by one sister Olive (Mrs. Earl Gaunt) of Goderich. Also surviving are five grand­ children, Karen and Shane Durnin; Lynn Feeney; Beth (Mrs. Paul Anstett); and John Feeney; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Durnin was predeceased by her husband Harry Durnin, four sisters, and two brothers. A funeral service was held at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home on August 10, with Rev. David Snihur officiating. The pallbearers were Douglas Hesk, Ken Gaunt, Roy Holmes, Harold Kerslake, James Lobb and Murray Lyon. Interment Blyth Union Ceme­ tery. JOHN M. CRAIG John M. Craig passed away at Huronview in Clinton on Friday, August 18, 1989. He was 84 years of age. Formerly a resident of RR 2, Blyth, Mr. Craig was bora in Morris Township and spent most of his life farming there. He was a member of Blyth United Church. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ellen Switzer. Left to mourn his passing are two child­ ren: Mrs. Margaret Townsend of London and Carmen Craig of RR 2, Blyth. Also surviving are three grandchildren Craig, Murray, and Ruth Townsend and one great- grandson. Reverend Lorenzo Ramirez offi­ ciated at the service which was held on Monday, August 21 at 2 p.m. from the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth. Pallbearers were Lloyd Appleby, Peter Kelly, Bodie Craig, Don Craig,* Craig Townsend and Murray Townsend. Interment was at Blyth Union Cemetery. Dairy princess contestants sought The competition for the 1989 Huron County Dairy Princess will be held on Saturday, October 14, in Blyth. Contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 25 and have parents who are or have been involved in cream or milk production. Last year’s princess Miss Lisa Boonstoppel of RR 1, Auburn, will crown the winner whose job it will be to act as goodwill ambassador promoting milk and milk products throughout Huron County. She will also represent Huron at the 1990 Ontario Dairy Princess competition at the CNE in Toronto. Co-ordinator for the competition is Mrs. Brenda K. Bridge and she asks anyone interested in participa­ ting to contact her at RR 4, Kincardine, Ont. or phone 395- 5911 before August 30.
