HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 1989-08-16, Page 21Obituaries Michael Vincent MICHAEL JAMES VINCENT Michael James Vincent of Bay- field Road Clinton and formerly of Hullett Township, died August 8, 1989 at University Hospital, Lon­ don as a result of injuries from a motor accident. He was 21 years of age. He was bom at the Stratford Hospital on April 13, 1968. He was the son of Douglas Vincent of Londesboro and Joyce O’Neill of Kinbum. He attended Hullett Central School and Central Huron Secon­ dary School in Clinton. He was currently employed at Royal Homes in Wingham at the time of his death and was active in sports, having been a member of the Brussels Bulls hockey team. Surviving besides his parents are brothers and sisters: Jeff Vincent, Clinton; Greg McClinchey, Londes­ boro; Tammy Vincent, Londesboro and Kelly, Kim and Tom O’Neill of Kitchener. He was the grandson of Tom and Bernice MacFarlane of Brussels and Norman and Annie Vincent of Londesboro. He was a special friend of Heidi Israels of Clinton. Visitation was held Thursday at the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth where a private family service was held on Friday. Rev. David Snihur and Rev. Gerald McFarlane offici­ ated. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Koaches, Todd McDonald, Jeff McGavin, Lance Livingston, Brad Forbes and Brian Campbell. Flowerbearers were Lyle Camp­ bell, Brad Wright, Bruce and Robby Vincent. MARGARET LILA HIGGINS Lila Higgins, long time resident of Belgrave, died at Wingham and District Hospital on August 8, 1989 after a lengthy illness. She was in her 94th year. She was bom in Morris Town­ ship on Nov. 18,1895, the daughter 'ofsthe late Jeremiah Brydges and Eliza McCrea. On Sept. 1, 1915 she married William Robert Higgins in Brus­ sels. He predeceased her in 1974. She is survived by three daugh­ ters and two sons: Jean, Mrs. Jean Pattison of Belgrave; Margaret Higgins, Belgrave; Ruth, Mrs. John King, Wingham; Alvin, and his wife Verna, Wingham; Jere­ miah and his wife Marlene, of Stratford. She was predeceased by one brother, William, four sisters, Mrs. Annie Nethery, Miss Ellen Brydges, Mrs. Esther Halliday and Mrs. Gertrude Tulley and one son-in-law, Roy Pattison. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Anglican Church, Belgrave and of the Anglican Church Women of that church. The funeral service was held from the McBumey Funeral Home, Wingham on August 10, 1989 with Rev. Douglas Madge officiating. Interment was in Brandon Ceme­ tery. Serving as pallbearers were two grandsons, Donald Pattison and Michael King; two great-grand­ sons, Rob and Tim Penner, two nephews, Harry Brydges and Terry Nethery and two friends, Clare Van Camp and Alex Nethery. Flowerbearers were grand­ daughters Doreen Marks, Carol Lassaline, Kathleen King and Verna-Dawn Cossey. MELVILLE LAURENCE [KELLY] LAMONT Melville Laurence (Kelly) La­ mont of Seaforth, and formerly of Grey township, died August 10, 1989 at Seaforth Community Hospi­ tal. He was 82 years of age. Kelly Lamont was bom in Grey township and farmed on the 7th concession before retiring to Sea­ forth. He was a member of the United Church. He never married. He is survived by several cousins. The funeral service was held August 12, 1989 from the Betts Funeral Home, Brussels with Rev. J. Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Brussels Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John Armstrong, Tom Finch, Clarence Bishop, Don Martin, Ken Bray and Harold Hoy. Flowerbearers were Ross Stephenson and Lynn Hoy. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16. 1989. The first fifty-two (52) motor vehicles in parking lot C7 will qualify for the draw (unoccupied vehicles will not be eligible). In the event that all 52 stakes are not taken in the draw, the remaining stakes will be alloc­ ated on a first come, first served basis. Although two people may occupy a hunting stake, only one draw per vehicle will be permitted. Overnight parking will be allow­ ed only in L15, C7, across from the viewing stand. Camper trailers will not be permitted. All remaining parking lots will be closed daily from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Upon receipt of his/her Hunter Validation/Harvest Card (HV/HC), the hunters will deposit her/his small game licence with the park­ ing lot operator. Zone A parking lots will be opened at 3:00 a.m. each day. The HV/HC must be displayed in a manner so that it can be easily seen, preferably on the dash of the vehicle when parked in Zone A. Each day, at the conclusion of the hunt, the hunters will return the HV/HC to the parking lot operator and retrieve the small game licence. Bag checks and hunter success information will be requested at this time. Further Notice to all Hunters: From October 1 to December 31, overnight parking will- only be allowed in the main parking lot across from the viewing stand L15, C7.
