Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Gordon of Mississauga; Lyle of Sault Ste. Marie, and Margery of Waterloo. Three grandchildren, Sari, Paula and Peter survive. Also surviving are two sisters, Edythe Smith of London and Jean, Mrs. John Gear, of Waterloo and one brother, Gordon McDowell of Blyth. Visitation was at the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth. The funeral service was held August 3, 1989 from the Blyth United Church with Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez officiating. Interment was in Ball’s Cemetery, Auburn. Serving as pallbearers were Ross Obituaries GRACE EVELYN SMITH Evelyn Smith of Victoria Street, Blyth, died suddenly at her home Tuesday, August 1, 1989. She was 75 years of age. Evelyn Smith was bom in East Wawanosh Township. She married Charles C. Smith in 1933 in Auburn and the couple farmed seventh concession of East Wawanosh be­ fore retiring to Blyth several years ago. For many years she served as the Westfield correspondent for the Blyth Standard newspaper. She was a member of the Blyth United Church and since moving to Blyth had been active with the Business and Professional Directory Taylor, Alan Jardin, Jim and Doug Smith, Warren Gear, and Ivan Wightman. Flowerbearers were her grandchildren Sari, Paula and Peter Smith. CHARLES STEWART BLATHWAYT Charles Stewart Blathwayt pass­ ed away at his residence in Auburn on Thursday, July 27, 1989. He was 73. Born in Brantford, Ontario, on April 7, 1916, Mr. Blathwayt was employed as a bank manager in Toronto for 40 years before retir­ ing. He is survived by his wife the former Rita McCaskey. His par­ ents, Charles Blathwayt and Jenny (Devereaux) Blathwayt predeceas­ ed him. JOHN GLANVILLE John Qarence Arthur Glanville of RR 4, Walton, died Wednesday, July 26, 1989 at the Stratford General Hospital. He was 74. Bom at Manitoulin Island on March 17, 1915, he was a son of the late Harold Glanville and the former Tillie Brown. He is survived by his wife, the former Winnifred McCallum; seven sons, Lloyd of Brussels, Alex of Melford, Saskatchewan, Ken, Lome, Les and Art, all of RR 4, Walton, and Roy of Rostock; and three daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Richard Horst) of RR 1, Walton, Eileen (Mrs. Neil Ward) of RR 1, Innerkip and Marleen (Mrs. Don GENERAI J. Mr. Glanville was predeceased by a brother Frank and a sister Eva Hayden. Friends were received at the Whitney-Ribey funeral home in Seaforth and a funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 29. Burial was in Exeter cemetery. Pallbearers were Gord Pryce, Orville Storey, Mervin Godkin, Don Dennis, Andrew Patrick and Jim Axtmann. LIFE R.
