Snihur conducted the morn­ ing service of Knox United Church and Mrs. Gordon Gross was the organist. “Holy, Holy, Holy” was sung. Call to Worship was read alternate­ ly followed by hymn “To God be The Glory”. Rev. Snihur gave the Prayer of Approach. The announce­ ments were given, the children’s song was “from the Rising of the Sun” followed by their story. “Near to the Heart of God” was sung. Rev. Snihur read scripture from John and the prayer chorus, “Silently now I wait for Thee” was sung. Rev. Snihur read the scrip­ ture reading from Matthew. Rev. Snihur’s sermon was entitled Community congratulates top scout Schneider Congratulations to Michael Schneider of Auburn for receiving the highest award a Scout can achieve. Award ceremony was held on June 24 at Wesley Willis United Church in Clinton. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hallam (nee Lori Millian) Business and_______ Professional Directory “John the Baptist - Words from Prison”. The offering was received by Marinus Bakker and Murray Rollinson and dedicated. The hymn “Herald! Sound the note of Judg­ ment” was sung and Rev. Snihur pronounced the benediction. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gross, Anita, Bryan and April and Mar­ jorie McDougall attended the 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cape of London. Rev. Came conducts Ball's service The 63rd annual Memorial Ser­ vice of Ball’s Cemetery was held on Sunday, July 9 at 3 p.m. The service was in charge of Rev. James Came of the Auburn Mis­ sionary Church. The service began with Call to Worship from Isa. 26. The hymn, “How Firm a Foun­ dation” was sung followed by prayer. “Tell it to Jesus” was sung and scripture reading from 1 Peter was given. Offering was received and the offeratory hymn “Breathe on me Breath of God” was sung. The meditation was “A Holy House”. “Take My Life and Let it be” was sung and the benediction ended the service. Auburn hosts 4-H achievement program On Wednesday, June 28, the 4H Achievement program was held at the Auburn Community Hall. Many people attended including clubs from Auburn, Varna, Londesboro, Port Albert, Belgrave, Kingsbridge and Donnybrook. Each club presented either a skit or exhibit. The Auburn club was presented with best junior and senior book awards. The junior book award was won by Laurel Campbell and Michael Bakker. The senior award was won by Sheila Rodger. Overall the “Let’s Land­ scape” club was a success. Henry F.
