the door as they gathered at Knox
United Church, Belgrave, Wed
nesday, July 5 at 8 p.m. for the
Induction of the Rev. Peter Tucker
as minister of the Belgrave, Calvin-
Brick pastoral charge.
An organ-piano prelude of
sacred numbers was presented by
Mrs. George Procter, organist of
Belgrave Church and Mrs. George
McGee pianist, Calvin-Brick
Church. Choir members from both
churches combined to sing their
anthem “Lead Me Saviour,” the
hymns: Praise to the Lord, the
Almighty”, “Pour out Thy Spirit”,
“The Parting Hymn of Praise” and
in conclusion “The Gaelic Benedic
tion”, with organ accompaniment.
Mrs. Joel Arkell, Belgrave con
tributed a pleasing solo, “I Love
Thee”, with Mrs. George Procter
accompanist.
A service compiled for the Induc
tion of a minister in Huron-Perth
Presbytery was followed through
out. Presiding chairperson was
Mrs. Marjory Mallory, Lay repre
sentative Trinity Church Listowel.
The sermon was by Rev. Cecil
Wittich, Listowel; Induction Pre
siding Officer was Rev. R. Hawley,
chairman of Presbytery, Exeter,
assisted by Rev. William Jones,
Kirkton. The scripture from Ephe
sians 4: 1-16 was read by Mrs.
Muriel Coultes, chairperson-elect
for Huron-Perth Presbytery. Rev.
Donald Beck, Fordwich, chairper
son of Huron-Perth Pastoral com
mittee also took part.
Rev. Cecil Wittich based the
remarks for his message on the
“Church”. God says “I have
chosen you; you have not chosen
Me” I Peter: 2, 9, reads “Ye are a
chosen generation a royal priest
hood; an holy nation; a peculiar
people”. Mr. Wittich related the
story of a small child, at a large
fair, who strayed from her mother
and father. The frantic parents
searched until the little one, una
ware of the consternation was
found and restored to loving arms.
So it is with us we stray; but our
Master brings us back to His fold.
Each of us is a priest, or in
Biblical terms - a bridge; each is a
witness for the Church.
Following the Induction cere
mony of Rev. Peter Tucker by Rev.
R. Hawley the newly inducted
minister was welcomed into the
midst by a hearty handclasp from
23 members of the Presbytery.

ties Rev. Tucker was ushered to the
