There will be five bands performing throughout the day in addition to the Mapletone Chorus, who will appear at 10:30 a.m. in front of The Citizen. For the rest of the weekend there are numerous activities taking place at the ball park, the arena and across town. The parade will begin Saturday at 12 noon beginn­ ing at the old fairgrounds at the north end of the village. The breakfast on Saturday morn­ ing at the ball park and Sunday morning at the arena will run from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The church service will be at the arena Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. The Optimists Beef Barbecue will start Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and the Pork Chop Barbecue sponsored by St. John’s Anglican will start at 4:30 '■ p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday the canoe rally and kids’ tractor pull start at 1 p.m. followed at 2:00 by the bath tub races. The duck race will then begin at 3:00. Bessie Bingo will begin at 4 p.m. and the balloon release will take place at 6 p.m. The Brass Band Concert will run from 6:00 until 8:00 at the ball park and the pyjama parade will com­ mence at 8:30 from the ball park to the arena. There is a dance on both Friday and Saturday evenings to the Mozart Melody Makers and the Rudy Davis Band respectively. Sunday evening there is a Free Family Dance. The Tri-County Oldtimers Ball Tournament will start Friday even­ ing and run straight through the weekend. Most of the proceeds from Funfest will go to recreation and community betterment.
