Valedictory address Speaker salutes teachers who are leaving too BY MICHAEL CAMPBELL It all began in September of 1980, our first year of school. Some started in Walton Public School and some in Seaforth. I, myself am a graduate of Walton Public School. In September of 1984, the graduates of Miss Walsh’s grade 3 class came to Seaforth Public to start the rest of our elementary schooling. When I first arrived in this school I thought that it was the biggest, scariest place around. Everyone was bigger than I was. After a couple of weeks the newcomers, so to speak, got used to the size of the school and the size of the grade eights. Now we are, or should I say, were, the grade eights ... the biggest kids in the school. Some of us are even taller than some of the teachers. To me, the last five years have gone rather quickly. Now we are heading into high school. We will be the youngest and smallest once again. High school will be a big change for us. We will have to start to study for tests, put up with being called “grubs’’ and we will have to write exams. As we graduate out of S.P.S. we come closer to our ultimate goal - getting our driver’s licences; even though it is a year and a few months away.
