in our being here tonight. On
behalf of the graduating class, I
would like to take this opportunity
to extend my appreciation to the
teaching staff of Brussels Public
School. We couldn’t have done it
without you.
Let us stop at this bend in the
road and look back at the trail
behind us. Remember that first
day of kindergarten when we all
arrived like a flock of terrified
little baby chicks. Mrs. Ireland
was there and took us tenderly
under her wing and from then on
everything was all right.
In grade one Miss Mitchell, I
learned an important thing. If you
have to blow your nose, go behind
the piano.
Mrs. Huether, now that you are
retired I’m sure you won’t be
spending as much on shoes. You
nearly got my hand that day you
banged your shoe on my desk to
get my attention.
Mrs. Wilson, in grade three
how I admired that lovely red
lipstick and nail polish. I couldn’t
seem to understand why Mom
said I was too young to wear it. It
was so pretty to me.
Mrs. Cousins, we enjoyed your
little music concerts on the piano.
They really passed the time and
made math class a whole lot
shorter.
Delightful Mr. Prior ... Listen
up! Take 25 for all those stupid
jokes you told us.
Mrs. Raymond ... Don’t worry,
be happy. We’ll all get our
English perfect, eventually.
Have you seen any bluebirds
lately Mr. Axtmann? I think
Grads, we should all plant a tree
to remember Mr. Axtmann.
Mrs. Wasson, I really like your
outfit tonight. Did your Mommy
buy it for us? You really should
get a tan though.
Next we have the mature Mr.
Parsons. Would you happen to
know who’s “going together’’.
We owe you a lot for being
“instrumental” in starting our
band. We will be able to carry
these newly-developed talents
with us forever.
For many of us, we would not
have been at school if it hadn’t
been for our capable bus drivers.
Marlene, we appreciated you
always being on time. Ken, you
really should invest in a Timex.
Special thanks though for coming
up my long lane that cold, stormy
morning. And Max, thanks for
the donuts skinny.
Every school has a custodian,
