Grey Central Echo BY RACHEL VANVEEN AND HEATHER THOMPSON The grade 7 class, along with 12 chaperones, and two teachers, went on their class trip to Quebec and Ottawa June 11 to 16. The trip started bright and early Sunday morning, with the rented coach leaving Grey at 6 a.m. Everyone was excited and few people slept, for the first leg of the trip. A packed lunch was enjoyed at noon, and for supper we all had fun ordering in French at McDonald’s. Following a delicious Big Mac and fries, we headed for Laval in search of our rooms. After inspect ing our rooms we drove down to Old Quebec City for an orientation tour. The next day, we again drove down to Old Quebec, to spend the day, with our chaperones, sight seeing and souvenir shopping. Later that evening, after a meal of St. Hubert chicken, we all enjoyed a swim at the University pool. Waking early the next morning, we left for an interesting day, touring , The Grand Canyon, Aquarium, Ste. Anne De Beaupre, Montmorency Falls, and the country side. Wednesday brought a final trip to Old Quebec to finish souvenir shopping. Then it was back on the bus for another long drive, and another stop at McDonald’s. Ottawa proved to be full of walking tours and politics. It was a chance to learn more about our country and its government. The drive home was quiet, as many slept the six hours away. Once again we stopped at McDon ald’s for dinner. After supper the chaperones entertained us with a song they had written, that summ ed up our trip. On arriving home, we all jumped out to greet our parents, and tell them of the adventures we had had.
