Obituaries GERTRUDE [TRI] DUIZER Gertrude (Tri) Duizer passed away at Huron view, Clinton on Friday, May 26, 1989. The former Londesboro resident was in her 80th year. She was the wife of Airie Duizer of Londesboro and had been active in community affairs before moving to Huron view. She is survived by three daugh­ ters and one son: Janet, and her husband Joe Hunking, of Hullett township; Gerrie and her husband Wayne Kennedy of Hullett town­ ship; Audrey and her husband Bruce Lyndon of Clinton and Tom and his wife Marjorie of Londes­ boro. Also surviving are 19 grand­ children, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister and two brothers in Holland. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. The funeral service was held from the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth on Monday, May 29, at 2 p.m. MRS. MARGARET McBRIEN Mrs. Margaret McBrien, a resi­ dent of Callander Nursing Home in Brussels, died there on May 25, 1989. She was in her 85th year. Bom in Grey Township, the former Margaret Pride married the late Secord.McBrien. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter Joan Miller and her husband Ken of Guelph and two grandchildren, Jody and Stacey. Mrs. McBrien was the dear sister of Edith Sperian of Michigan, Gertie Pride of Kitch­ ener, and Alvin Pride also of Kitchener. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two brothers Seth and Frank and four sisters, Pearl Wheeler, Millie Smalldon, Dorothy Rudd, and Vera. Funeral services were conducted on May 27 at the Watts Funeral Home in Brussels at 2 p.m. The Reverend B. Nevin officiated. Interment followed at Brussels Cemetery. KATE McNABB Kate McNabb passed away at her residence in Listowel on Satur­ day, May 20, 1989. She was a retired school teacher and was active in church and community affairs. She was predeceased by her parents the late John McNabb and Mary McNair; three sisters and two brothers. Friends and relatives were re­ ceived at the Peebles Funeral Home, Atwood. The service was conducted by Rev. Vera Toser on Tuesday, May 23. Interment was in Cranbrook Cemetery. EDWARD “RALPH” KEFFER Mr. Edward “Ralph” Keffer passed away at his residence on RR 2, Bluevale, May 27, 1989. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Keffer was bora in Grey Township and married the former Thelma Flood. He was a member of the Salvation Army. Besides his wife those who mourn him are his children, Larry and Pat Keffer of Bluevale, Brenda and Howard Turner of Wroxeter, and Bethany and Gordon Edgar of Bluevale. Mr. Keffer was the beloved grandfather of Kendra, Krista and Kirk Keffer, Denise and Sherri-Lynne Turner and Crystal and Jeremy Edgar and great­ grandfather of Brandy and Danielle Thomas. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles of Dornick, Fred and Lloyd both of Ethel. He was predeceased by one son Keith Ian and two brothers, Wilfred and Helbert. Funeral services were conducted on May 29, 1989 at 2 p.m. in the Watts Funeral Home in Brussels with Lt. Barber officiating. Inter­ ment followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Ethel. MABEL CHRISTINE McARTHUR Mrs. Mabel McArthur passed away May 24, 1989 at the Hanover and District Hospital. She was 73 years of age. Bora in Lions Head, Ontario, the former Mabel Christine Bridge was a resident of RR 1, Wroxeter and attended Wroxeter United Church. She was predeceased by her hus­ band Archie McArthur. Left to mourn her passing are her child­ ren, Robert and Connie of Fraser- wood, Manitoba; Ken and Diane of Wingham; Gary and Lorna of Gorrie; Ronald and Marrion also of Gorrie; Norma and her husband Wilfred Bailey of Hanover; Ruth and her husband Bill Wilson of Woodstock; Shirley and her hus­ band Basil Murray of Glencoe; Madelon and her husband Dan Edgar of Atwood; and Sharon Seip of Gorrie. She was the dear sister of Bob Bridge of Lake St. Peter, Hazel Taylor of Lions Head and Irene Krumholtz of Wiarton. Mrs. McAr­ thur was the beloved daughter of James Bridge of Lions Head and the late Sarah Bridge. Visitation was at the Watts Funeral Home in Gorrie until the funeral at 2 p.m. on May 26. Reverend Brenda Clarke officiated at the service which was followed by interment at Wroxeter Ceme­ tery. Blyth Festival sales up 75% Demand for tickets for the 15th anniversary season of the Blyth Festival has been heavy with sales up 75 per cent over the same time last year. “Our theatre patrons have rush­ ed to buy tickets early this year”, Joel Harris, Festival general man­ ager said. As of last week nearly 17,000 tickets had been sold with over 150 groups booked in. Leading the way in ticket sales are “Perils of Persephone” and “The Right One”. Nearly one third of tickets for “Sticks and Stones” the play about the Donnelly trage­ dy at Lucan and “The Dreamland” the huge-east musical, have also been sold.
