Obituaries WALTER LLOYD SELLERS Walter Lloyd Sellers of Lot 15, Concession 3, Morris Township passed away at his residence on May 16, 1989. He was born in Morris township 83 years ago and farmed all his life. He was a member of the United Church. He is survived by four nephews and one niece: Donald MacLean of Toronto, James MacLean of Barrie, Rick Sellers of Barrie and Susan Elliotson of Caledon East. He was the brother of the late Ernestine MacLean and Elmer Sellers. The funeral service took place May 19 at 2 p.m. from the Watts Funeral Home, Brussels with Rev. Bonnie Lamble officiating. Inter­ ment was in Brussels Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ross Turvey, Bernard Thomas, Bob Fraser, Sam Thynne, Glen Sellers and Tom Warwick. WILLIAM CLARK JOHNSTON A native of East Wawanosh, William Clark Johnston of 329 Josephine Street, Wingham, died Thursday, May 18, at Wingham and District Hospital at the age of 76. Clark was born Nov. 23, 1912, a son of the late Charles Johnston and Annie Mabel Geddes. He attended SS No. 8, East Wawanosh and farmed during his early adult life. He later worked for 13 years for the County of Huron Roads Department, employed on the bridge crew. He was a member of Belgrave’s Trinity Anglican Church; the Loyal Orange Lodge No. 462 of Belgrave and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180, Wingham. On Sept. 15, 1943, Clark married the former Ardyss Brown at her parents' home at Langside. She survives to mourn his death, along with two daughters, Mrs. John (Linda) Rutherford of Point Clark and Mrs. John (Janette) DeMedeiros of London. There are seven grandchildren and one great­ grandchild. He was predeceased by his brother, Maitland Johnston. Friends paid their respects at The McBurney Funeral Home until Saturday when funeral service was conducted at two o’clock by Rev. Douglas G. Madge. Final resting place is Brandon Cemetery, Bel­ grave. Pallbearers were Murray Vin­ cent, Elmer Bruce, Arnold Bruce, Jim McCallum, Jim Scott and Mike Johnston. Memorial floral arrange­ ments were carried by Harold Vincent, Bradley Young and Garry DeMedeiros. JAMES CLARENCE EAST James Clarence East a former resident of Hullett township died Friday, May 19, 1989 at the Queensway Nursing Home, Hen­ sail. He was in his 90th year. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marguerite Merriott. Surviving are two daughters and four sons: Kay Hessclwood of Blyth; Lillian and Albert Evans of Clinton; Jack and Margaret East of Brussels; Harold and Mary East, Carl and Kay East and Charles and Shirley East, all of Hullett town­ ship. Also surviving are 25 grand­ children and 29 great-grandchild­ ren. He was predeceased by two sisters. Isabelle, (Mrs. Harry Harp­ er) and Sadie, (Mrs. Leonard Whit­ tington) and by two grandchildren. The funeral service was held Sunday, May 21 from the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton. Interment was in Clinton Ceme­ tery. Memorial Donations are be­ ing accepted for Clinton Public Hospital. Has collected many of your photographs during the past year.
