Mrs. Taylor’s children, Claire of Saltspring Island, British Colum­ bia, and Boyd and his wife Muriel of Walton are taking her out to dinner to celebrate. Anne Taylor was born in Stanley Township in 1904. She moved to Morris Township when she married Ken Taylor in 1931. Mrs. Taylor used to nurse for five years in Toronto and New York. Now, she’s a member of the Anglican Church in Blyth. She enjoys gardening and reading. THE YEAR OF MAY 10 Still working like a charm It may be 60 years old but Blyth’s antique fire truck still works like new when it comes to pumping water. It took three men to hold down the hose because of the pressure the pumper generated.HAPPY 16th Love Mom, Dad & Kendra Love Mom, Dad & Kathy Blyth seniors entertain guests The Blyth Swinging Seniors en­ tertained the Auburn Silver Tops at their regular meeting on April 26 in the Memorial Hall. President John Hesselwood wel­ comed everyone after which a dessert luncheon was enjoyed. A brief business meeting began with singing “O Canada" and "Happy Birthday" to those having April birthdays. Ella Richmond was at the piano and Vera Badley led the singing. John mentioned that members are invited to Huronview for a noon meal on June 6. This will be followed by a program. Members are also invited to the Legion Hall on April 29. The Senior Citizens and Horticulture Society will go on a bus trip on June 29 to the Market Place at Kitchener and the African Safari. Two quartette numbers by Lloyd Walden, Harvey McDowell, Millar Richmond and Jim Lawrie were greatly enjoyed. Following this euchre, lost heir, crokinole and scrabble were played. There was a draw for small gifts which were, won by: Lois Haines, Dorothy Grange, El Lapp, Martha Daer, Nancy Slater, Ted Mills, Mrs. John Simpson, Luella McGowan, Mary Wightman, Don Haines, Marion Haggitt, Vera Badley, Winnie Vin­ cent, Reta Blake, Janet Lawrie, June Peck and Bets Verway. On behalf of the Auburn Silver Tops Mrs. El Lapp thanked the Swinging Seniors for an enjoyable afternoon. This brought the meet­ ing to a close. The Blyth Swinging Seniors were entertained by the Blyth Legion on Saturday, April 29 in the Legion Hall. The Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors were also guests. An enjoyable afternoon was spent playing Euchre and Scrabble. Priz­ es were given after which a delicious lunch was served. The afternoon ended with words of appreciation by Londesboro and Blyth. Blyth. People There were 13 tables of euchre at Blyth, May 1 with Mary Shobbrook and Harry Crich getting the high prize. Low prizes went to Lillian Leath­ erland and Alvin Proctor; most lone hands to Vietta Hoggarth and Len Shobbrook and special to Marjorie McDougall. The lucky table was Don and Lois Haines, Lillian Leatherland and Murray Scrimgeour. Euchre is Monday night with everyone wel come. Prizes for high lady and man at Blyth Lost Heir on May 3, 1989 went to Ruth Shields and Cecil Wittich. Low prizes were won by Feme Howatt and Alvin Snell with Graeme McDowell getting the spe cial. There were eight tables in play. This was the last Lost Heir party of the season.
