Wingham Hospital Auxiliary names new executive The Auxiliary to the Wingham and District Hospital concluded a very successful year and a review of 1988-89 activities was made at the annual meeting April 17 when 30 auxiliary members gathered at the R.N.A. Training School for a dessert meeting. Marie Phillips presided at the meeting and re­ ports from the various committees were given. During the year $2,481 was given for hospital equipment. Achieve­ ment awards totalling $250 were given and subscriptions to the Owl magazine and large print Readers Digest were donated to the hospi­ tal. A Registered Nursing Assistant Proficiency award was presented at the May graduation. A New Year’s Baby was welcomed with a gift. A Life Membership was awarded to Jo English for many years of service. Rummage Sales amounted to $3,984 and Gift Shop proceeds $4,964. Marathon Bridge netted $1,244. Volunteer hours totalled $1,004. There were 84 paid members to the Auxiliary. Hospital Auxiliary membership cards are available in the Gift Case for paid up members for the year 1989. Receipts can be picked up there as well. Lorna Stewart installed the offi­ cers for the coming year and Marie Phillips welcomed the new presi­ dent, Mary Lou Cameron and presented here with the Presi­ dent’s pin. He was 72 years of age. He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Winn and three sons and one daughter: Robert of Cal­ gary, Stuart and his wife Maureen of Chatsworth, Steven and his wife Pat of Walkerton and Anna and her husband Bruce Hamilton of Brus­ sels. Also surviving are his grand­ children Tambra, Tracy, Cory, Candice, Robert, Jim, Shelley, Troy and Melinda and two great­ grandchildren, Justin and Arnie. He was the brother of Evelyn, Barbara, Gwen, Edith, and Polly and the late Walter, Murray, Fred, Bruce, Margaret and Joy. He was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Brussels. Rev. Patt Nunn officiated at the funeral service held at the Watts Funeral Home, Brussels on April 20, 1989. Serving as pallbearers were Steven Hayward, Stuart Hay­ ward, Robert Hayward, Jr., Bruce Hamilton, and Jim Hayward. Flower bearers were Tracy Hay- wardy, Shelley Hayward, Michelle Hayward, Melinda Hamilton, Shaun Dane and Cory Hayward. Interment was in Brussels ceme­ tery. MARGARET INEZ TAYLOR Margaret Inez Taylor of 16 Frederick St., Brussels died April 20, 1989 at Wingham and District Hospital. She was 64 years of age. She was born in Fordwich and was a secretary during her working life. She was a member of the Melville Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 218, Brus­ sels. She married Louis Taylor who predeceased her. She is survived by a daughter Lynne and her husband Thomas Cronin of Brus­ sels; a brother Gerald Gibson of Brussels and sister Lillian Mitchell of Markham. The funeral service was held on Monday, April 24 from the Watts Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel with Rev. P. Chalmers officiating. Interment was in Brussels Ceme­ tery. Pallbearers were Bill Aitchison, Maurice Douma, Don Gibson, Peter Gibson, John Southgate and Bill Scott. Flowerbearers were Carman Machan, Jack Overholt and Ross Somers.
