Phone 887-6677 Walton UCW Unit meets UCW plans for Daffodil Tea The April meeting of Walton II unit was held in the church Sunday Shool room with 11 present. Cath­ erine Baan and Karen Hoegy led devotions. Meditation was on kind­ ness. Kathleen Williamson chaired the business. Leaders and sides were named for the Copper Contest. Plans were made for Jeanne Mc­ Donald’s shower on May 12, also for the Daffodil Tea, Bake Sale and Garage Sale this Friday, April 21. Regal supplies and cook books will also be for sale. We were reminded of the U.C.W. fun day in Stratford April 18. Not too late for dinner It was hoped you didn’t start out in that storm last Wednesday to the noon lunch at the hall, as it was the wrong date reported in last week’s paper. Come this Wednesday, April 19, noon luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. The Walton I Unit of the United Church Women held its April meeting in the church basement, Wednesday evening with 21 pre­ sent. Worship was led by Edith Wey and Doreeen Hackwell who also had the topic. Roll call was answer­ ed by: “Name a Woman of the Bible’’. In the business chaired by Phyl­ lis Mitchell, final plans were made for the U.C.W. Daffodil Tea on Friday, April 21 from 2 - 4 p.m. Every family is to participate, bringing 2 articles for each, the bake table and the miscellaneous table. The U.C.W. catered to a meal for Cathy McGavin’s wedding this past weekend. A bale will be sent in May. A letter was read from Derwyn Docken, former minister here, reporting that Jean had been moved to Kincardine Hospital from London where she has been since her accident. Also Eva Mills, a former Walton resident would be moved to Clinton Hospital from Stratford Hospital where she has been with a broken hip. Members Church service held Morning worship at Duff’s was officiated by Rev. Bonnie Lamble. Marilyn McDonald greeted wor­ shippers at the door an gave out bulletins. Ross Bennett and Barry Hoegy received the offering. The flowers in the church were from the Milady and McGavin wedding that was held on Saturday. wish them both better health. Next month will be a joint meeting on Stewardship and Fin­ ance when Eva Buchanan will be guest speaker. A social time of fellowship followed with lunch served by group F, consisting of Alice Searle, leona McDonald and Marjorie Humphries.
