Musicals at Playhouse II
Huron County Playhouse in
Grand Bend is once more inviting
all area children (ages 6-16) who
are anxious to try their hand at
acting to call now and schedule an
audition time.
Tony Lloyd, Playhouse Artistic
Director, will be selecting as many
young talents as he can to partici
pate in the final production on the
main stage: “The King & I’’,
August 15 to September 2.
Children must be prepared to
work along side many professional
actors. The Direction, Musical
Direction, and Choreography will

take them so long they’d never get
anything done.
An added benefit, Hank said.
Besides, if they had to travel by
train they might actually meet
some real people instead of always
being surrounded by other politi
cians and advisers all the time.
And you can bet, Tim said, that if
the M.P.s had to travel by train
there’d soon be money to give VIA
i chance to modernize its equip
ment.
WEDNESDAY: Julia said she knew
it was silly to waste her time on it
but she figured she’d likely end up
watching the Oscars again tonight.
“If nothing else, it’s something to
see what the women wear that I
wouldn’t be caught dead in.’’
Tim said'he used to watch the
Oscars to see how little Cher could
get by wearing but he’s feeling
guilty now after that Professor
being thrown out of the University
of Toronto swimming pool for
leering at women swimmers. He
must plead guilty to having leered
at Cher a few times and it must

leading professionals in those
areas. What a wonderful experi
ence for those able to participate in
the two week rehearsal period prior
to the three week run of the show.
Children must be available for all
rehearsals, and all show-times.
They should possess the desire to
learn, and get along well with
others who have the same want --
to please the audience. A good
voice, and perhaps some dance
experience are what Tony Lloyd
will be looking for at the audition,

was 3,000 miles away.
Hank said the whole thing about
this seems to be like MacDonald’s
complaining because its advertis
ing brings in too much business.
He could never figure out why
women would spent so much time
and money on clothes to attract the
attention of men, then blame men
for being sexist when they looked.
Julia said she could understand
how the students would be uncom
fortable with this guy swimming
along side wearing flippers and a
mask so he could get a better look
at them when they were swimming.
It seems to go beyond the normal
stares on the beach, she said.
What we have here, Ward said,
is a case of discrimination. Let’s
face it, if this guy in the fins and
mask was some 20-year-oid, mus
cular adonis from the football team
instead of a paunchy, middle-aged
professor, do you really think
anyone would be complaining?
