Vanass On Wednesday, March 1, speeches were held at Brussels Legion. The students participating from our school were, from the junior division: Darrell Uhler, Molly Morton and Shawn Stewart; from the senior division: Angie Williams, Lisa Marchitto and Ann Uhler. The final decision for the juniors was Darrell Uhler placing first. The final decision for seniors was Lisa Marchitto placing second. We would like to congratulate the winners on doing a fine job. INTERMEDIATE ENRICHMENT by D. Terpstra and J. Miners On March 5 and 6, four students from each school in North-Huron went to the enrichment program in Howick. They picked what group they wanted to go in, either photo graphy or videotaping. In videotap ing the group could make their own commercial. In photography they learned about black and white pictures and coloured. They also learned how to develop their own pictures. They took their pictures outside. Everyone had a fun and interest ing time. ROOMMATES by S. Boyd and K. Kerr On Tuesday, February 28 the grades 7 selected whom they wanted to room with for their Quebec and Ottawa trip on June 11 to the 17. Part of the planning this trip was to pick whom you were going to stay with for a week. After the March Break the grade seven students are planning to start selling hot dogs and pizza to raise more money for our trip. Some other suggestions were to have a garage sale, slave day (that’s when people buy you and you have to do what they say) and sell cheese. We are really looking forward to our trip but we have a lot of work to do first. Belgrave fire cause unknown The cause of the fires that destroyed the home of Robert Wattam on Jane Street in Belgrave on March 17 and 18 has been classified as undetermined follow ing an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal in conjunction with the Wingham Ontario Provincial police detachment. An OPP spokesman said that the investigation failed to turn up any clear-cut cause for the fire. Con stable Jim Dore of the Wingham O.P.P. said that the case is closed unless new evidence comes up.
