Phone 887-9487 Mathers back from Florida Mr. and Mrs. Melville Mathers returned home on Sunday from their vacation in Florida. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Procter, Belgrave, over the weekend were Marjorie Procter and Philip Stopforth of London. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Zettler and family of RR 4, Walkerton on Easter Sunday were: Mrs. Eliza­ beth Procter, Belgrave; Marjorie Procter and Philip Stopforth of London; Mr. and Mrs. Larry May­ berry, Marilyn, Kimberley and Darryl of Londesboro and also a friend Chris of Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. George Michie and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bosman have returned home from a very enjoy­ able holiday in Hawaii. They visited the four islands of Oahu, Mawi, Hawaii and Kawai. Mrs. Shirley Nicol, Susan, John and Andrew and Mr. and Mrs. James Nicol, all of Brampton, called on Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman on Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dunbar of Stratford, Mr. Jack Van Camp, Joel and Jackie and Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Van Camp of Belgrave attended the funeral of Mrs. Doro­ thy Hayes of Elyria, Ohio Monday, March 20. Belgrave neighbours and friends extend sympathy to Mrs. Joe Dunbar and family and Mr. Jack Van Camp and family in the loss of a dear sister, mother-in-law and aunt Mrs. Dorothy Hayes (Dorothy Brydges) of Elyria, Ohio. Tim Coultes and Kyle Moran spent the weekend with Jason and Gavin Fox of Toronto. Miss Dorothy Higgins of Callan­ der Nursing Home, Brussels, visit­ ed on Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Higgins. Mrs. Agnes Bieman returned home from St. Joseph’s Hospital, London last Thursday after having surgery. Miranda Bieman of Wingham has been visiting with her grand­ mother Mrs. Agnes Bieman for the Easter weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Roy and Christina of Peterborough, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Cousins of Woodstock, Mrs. Rick Ball, Matthew and Alicia of Hanover and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson of Goderich spent Easter weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ander­ son. Robins sang cheerily as the sun appeared above the eastern horizon on Easter Sunday morning. Simul­ taneously 70 members of Knox United and neighbouring churches gathered to celebrate the Resurrec­ tion at a Sunrise service in Bel­ grave United Church. The church sanctuary was beau­ tifully decorated with seven Easter Lilies in full bloom, supplemented by arrangements of multi-coloured flowers. Mrs. George Procter, organist and Mrs. George Johnston, pianist presented a prelude of sacred numbers. The service, which was sponsor-- ed by the U.C.W. was under the leadership of Mrs. Mabel Wheeler. Those participating were: Mrs. Wilma Scott, Mrs. Sheila Nixon, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler, Mrs. Linda Hopper, Mrs. Joyce Vincent and Mrs. Wilma Higgins. The choir chose “He Lives’’ as its anthem with organ accompani­ ment. John Nixon and Lome Camp­ bell acted as ushering stewards. This service is much appreciated. Following the benediction a bounteous breakfast was served in the church schoolroom by the U.C.W. social committee. At 11:15 the Easter church service was conducted by Rev. John G. Roberts with organist Mrs. George Procter and Mrs. Leslie Shaw pianist providing musical accompaniment. The large choir sang with Mrs. Procter at the piano. The minister chose scripture passages from Luke 24 as the basis for his message. He stated that the response of the women at the tomb and also of the disciples was one of disbelief. The Resurrection mes­ Woo/y Lambs hold first meeting The first meeting of the 4H Wooly Lambs was on February 20. The Wooly Lambs are Carol Hop­ per, Karen Montgomery, Jennifer Elston and Julie Elston. The lead­ ers of the flock are Mrs. Arlyn Montgomery and Mrs. Isabel Campbell. At the first meeting the girls Euchre results Twelve tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall, Beigrave on March 22. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Robert Grasby; low lady, Mrs. Ivy Cloakey; novelty lady, Mrs. Mel Jacklin, Mrs. Olive Bolt; high man, Mrs. Mabel Wheeler (playing as a man); low man, Leslie Short; novelty man, Wilford Caslick, Jack Taylor. There will be euchre again March 29 starting at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. sage is still unaccepted by many. However, if the Resurrection is rejected, so is faith. The Resurrection confirms the validity and the legitimacy of Jesus’ life. It speaks in terms of life; not death. Offeratory stewards were Glen Hunter, Pat Cull, John R. Taylor and Ross Higgins. started off with the 4-H pledge. Also at this meeting they started their sampler No. 1. The sampler is made up of all different kinds of stitches. They ended the meeting with the motto. Before they ended the meeting they learned the knit, purling, stocking stitches.
