Catering Group to press on Despite the fact that only 15 people attended the recent meeting of the B.M.G. Catering committee, the group has decided to continue its service to the community. It was the consensus of the ladies that the service is a valuable asset to the community, and therefore should function as long as possible. Brussels People many activities that take place in the arena would be held elsewhere. The money the arena would lose due to this would have to be absorbed by the taxpayers. In the last two years B.M.G. Catering has contributed $24,000 into the Com­ munity Centre, that would other­ wise have come out of the pockets of the citizens of Brussels and its surrounding townships. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts held a pot luck supper with their families. Scout Darien Hemingway gave a speech of the life of Lord Baden- Powell who founded the Scouting movement. Rev. Patt Nunn gave the blessing. Following the meal the guest speaker Hank Ten Pas gave a talk on wood. He pointed out to the boys the many uses of wood, its good qualities and the kinds of woods. He gave illustrations from his experience as a carpenter and a manufacturer at Grey Owl Indus­ tries. Scout Richard Minielly thank­ ed the speaker. Beaver leaders Carmie Newman and Brian Armstrong introduced the Beavers who gave a “Beaver Yell’'. Cub leaders Ross Heming­ way and Larry Proulx introduced the Cubs, and Scouters Robin Dunbar and Roy Alcock introduced the Scouts. Familiar landmark sold Rowe Fuels of Seaforth have taken over operations of Diesel Car Diner, from previous owner, Lome and Jack Dairy Equipment. The diner, which is located on Highway 86, six miles north of Brussels will be managed by Shirley Brewer. According to Bob Rowe there will be few changes made. The name, hours, and menu will remain the same.
