Mrs. McDougall had been hon- Obituaries JEAN MARIE FRASER Jean Marie Fraser of RR 5, Brussels died Sunday, February 12, 1989 in Wingham and District Hospital. She was born Jean Birk in Wallace Township. She was a member of the Bluevale United Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by one son, Michael of Brussels and by one brother, Lome Birk and his wife Helen of Palmerston. She was predeceased by a sister Ruby and a brother Ivan. The funeral service was held February 13 from the Watts Funer­ al Home, Brussels with Rev. Bonnie Lamble officiating. Inter­ ment was in Brussels Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Bluevale United Church on Sun­ day, Feb. 19, 1989 at 3 p.m. LEONARD CRAWFORD RADFORD Leonard Crawford Radford of Londesboro died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1989 at Clinton Public Hospital. He was 67 years of age. He is survived by his children Karen, and her husband Ken McVittie of Goderich; Raymond and his wife Beth of London; Linda and her husband Simon Vandam of Exeter; Denise and her husband Larry McCabe of Goderich; Gary and his wife Roxanne of London; Vickie of London; Brian of Londes­ boro; Robert and his wife Tracey of Londesboro; Cheryl of London and Stephen and his wife Darlene of Londesboro. Also surviving are brothers Ed of Blyth; Nelson of London; Gordon of Londesboro; Douglas of Niagara Falls and his sister Helen, Mrs. Jack Lee of Londesboro. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great­ grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife the former Joyce Rath. The funeral service was held February 14, 1989 from the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. ISABEL THOMPSON Mrs. Isabel E. Thompson of Listowel passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12 at her late residence in her 74th year. Mrs. Thompson was born in Morris township August 4, 1914. She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Farquharson. Mrs. Thompson was on the staff of the L. G. Coates department store in Listowel for many years. Mrs. Thompson and her husband were residents of Brussels for many years before moving to Listowel in 1948. She is survived by one son Frank and his wife Lois of Brussels; a grandson Paul Thompson of Brussels; two sisters, Jean (Mrs. Jack Scott of London) and Helen (Mrs. Jack Aubin of Seaforth), and one brother Bill Farquharson of London. She was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1981, two sisters Muriel and Kate and one brother Alvin. The funeral visitation was at the Robert Trench Funeral Home in Listowel on Tuesday where the service and commital will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Vern Tozer. Spring interment will be in Brus­ sels Cemetery. Her students over the years includ­ ed several people who went on themselves to become music teach­ ers. She also organized and super­ vised the Huron County Music Festival in Goderich. She was an early supporter of the Blyth Festival and was one of the early contributors to the fund to purchase a grand piano for Blyth Memorial Hall. She also served on the Blyth Public School Board for two years, served on various boards at the Blyth United Church and was a past president of the United Church Women at the Church. She had been residing for the past year at Maplewood Manor in Seaforth. She was born Winona Adele Pomeroy and married John Mc­ Dougall of Blyth. He predeceased her. She is survived by one son, John and his wife Margo of London and a sister Mrs. Ruth Hood of Stan- stead, Quebec. The funeral service took place February 13, 1989 from the Blyth United Church. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery. Church reports good year James Campbell, chairman of the Official Board, led devotions and presided over the annual business meeting of Huron Chapel Missionary Church, Auburn. All members were present, with the exception of two on vacation and two attending other churches. John McCowan, Trustee Board chairman, reported that in addition to considerable maintenance work done on both church and parson­ age, new carpet had been installed in the auditorium and the pews and pulpit furniture had been refinish­ ed. Heather McCowan reported that the Missionary Church Wo­ men had raised $1,038 for missions and that several children had been assisted in attending church camps. Children’s Ministry Director Debra Rodges indicated that an average of 75 children attended the summer Kids’ Krusade and that average weekly attendance at Kids’ Klub was 35. Jim Campbell, Youth Director, noted that consideration was being given to the hiring of a summer youth pastor in order to care for a growing group of teens. Doris Rodges indicated that 10 Adult Fellowship meetings were held. The secretary of the Official Board, Heather McCowan, men­ tioned as highlights of Board action the presentation of the film series “Turn Your Heart Toward Home,’’ revival meetings with Mark Bolen­ der, the securing of John and Helen Baumbach to establish a whole new garden decor for the front of the church next summer, and the highly successful outdoor “Country and Western Music Night’’ to which 175 people came. The treasurer’s report was given by David Baan. He indicated that he had never before seen a year as healthy financially as the past one. Overall giving increased by 12.1 per cent and amounted to $53,226; giving to missions increased by 56.6 per cent: instead of slightly more than $8,000 pledged during the missionary convention $11,835 was actually given.
