The Citizen, 1989-02-15, Page 3This B-Line Transport hauling 40 tons of salt from Goderich to Toronto was one of the victims of last week’s blizzards, spending the night of February 8-9 in the ditch beside County Road 25 just east of Blyth after its driver lost his bearings in the near-zero visibility. He and another B-Line driver spent the night as guests of Blyth Reeve Albert Wasson, while Wingham OPP report that two other salt trucks were also local victims of the storm. Nobody was hurt in any of the accidents. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1989. PAGE 3. Questionnaire going to ratepayers this month A questionnaire will be mailed out to Blyth taxpayers along with their tax bills this month to ask people what they would like to see their council doing. The questionnaire, designed by Councillor Dave Medd was approv ed by council at its Feb. 7 meeting. The questionnaire says that the newly elected council seeks to get public input into various areas of council business. Topics such as general appearance of village, availability of municipal informa tion concerning the resident, vill age services, municipal employees, elected municipal officials and general comments. The questionnaire warns that only those forms that are signed will be read. Those who have immediate concerns can feel free to deliver their forms in person to a councillor or the municipal office. A box will also be left in a convenient place in town. The surveys are to be returned by March 7. Councillor Dave Lee said he doubted many people would take the time to fill in the questionnaire. Councillor Medd said if they didn’t, the cost wasn’t heavy and people had at least been given their chance to voice their opinion.
