Phone 887-6645 1989 trustees elected Knox Presbyterian Church, Cranbrook, held its annual meet­ ing Tuesday, Jan. 31 beginning with a pot luck dinner enjoyed by all. Rev. Steven Webb opened the meeting with scripture and prayer. Chairman nominated was Rev. Webb and secretary Mrs. Stuart Stevenson. Minutes and financial report were given, the year’s reports were accepted as printed. Board of managers was elected, Foresters to sponsor euchre On January 19 the Cranbrook Community Centre Hall Board held its annual meeting. Minutes were read and financial statement given by the secretary-treasurer. Most of the renovations have been completed. The following are the board members for 1989, Gary Evans, Harold Bragg, Allen Fretz, Jack Knight, Brenda Perrie, Elea­ nor Stevenson. Coffee and donuts were enjoyed. Bluevale, weighing 1050 lbs., sold for $89.25. Choice cows went for: $52 to $55; good cows brought $48 to $52; and canners and cutters fetched $45 to $48. ushers and assistants named. The Every Home plan for the Presbyter­ ian Record was discontinued. Trustees for 1989 are John A. Perrie, Leslie Knight; Organist, Mrs. Stewart Steiss; Sunday School Superintendent, Mrs. John Van­ ass; Pres. Ladies’ Aid, Mrs. Jack Knight; Secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Stuart Stevenson. Thanks was given to Rev. Webb for his leadership in 1988. The Hall Board euchre on Feb. 3 had 15 tables. The Foresters are sponsoring the euchre on Feb. 10. 4-H ready Nancy Vanass and Brenda Perrie attended the training school for 4-H leaders on Thursday evening at Huronview. Bodmin Farms holds sale A modest crowd of cow buyers toured Bodmin Farms and inspect­ ed the shorthorn and shorthorn­ cross females on offer at the recent private treaty sale at Bodmin Farms. Enthusiastic buyers from Brant­ ford, Dublin, Clinton, Belgrave and Bluevale selected 22 bred females to add new genetics to their herds.
