Rob Hunking, Lisa Rammeloo win Jr. Farmers awards An Auburn-area man was named as Huron County’s Most Outstand­ ing Junior Farmer of 1988, while a Blyth woman was chosen as the club’s Most Enthusiastic First Year Memberatthe Huron County Junior Farmers’ ninth Annual Awards Night and Banquet in Clinton on Saturday. Award donor Bill Armstrong of Toronto, a former Huron County Junior Farmer, was on hand to present his namesake trophy to Robert Hunking of RR 1, Auburn in recognition of the youth’s outstand­ ing dedication and service to both the Clinton Junior Farmers and to the county club throughout the past year, when he served as president of the Clinton club as well as past president, secretary and public relations officer of the Huron County Junior Farmers. Mr. Hunking also served as the zone representative of the Clinton Club and as president of the county club in 1987, and was again elected president of the HCJF for 1989 last month. Armstrong Award for the Most Outstanding Junior Farmer were Audrey Ritchie of Lucknow, presi­ dent of the West Huron Junior Farmers; Nancy Denham of Sea­ forth, a member of the Seaforth Junior Farmers; and Mark Ryan of RR 3, Ailsa Craig, a member of the South Huron Junior Farmers. Lisa Rammeloo of Blyth was the recipient of the 1988 President’s Award as the Most Enthusiastic First Year Member of the Huron County Junior Farmers, presented by 1988 President Linda Axtmann of Wingham; and Miss Ritchie accept­ ed the Vincent Farm Equipment Participation Award from Bryan Vincenton behalf of the West Huron Ju noir Farmers, selected as the 1988 winner of the annual trophy for being the club most actively involved in county, zone and provincial Junior Farmer events during the past year. In addition, Dave and Dianne Vanneste, both of RR 1, Kippen and both members of the Seaforth Junior Farmers, were the recipients of the Robert Hunking of RR 1, Auburn, right, was the recipient of the Bill Armstrong Award as the Most Outstanding Huron County Junior Fanner of 1988. The presentation was made by trophy donor Mr. Armstrong at the HCJF annual awards presentations and banquet in Clinton on Saturday. Mr. Hunking was also inducted as 1989 HCJF president during the evening, and is very active with both the county organization and the Clinton Junior Farmers. HCJF Broomball Award for the most outstanding players in the annual tournament; while Mr. Hunking, Miss Axtmann and Cathy Vanneste were all recipients of the club’s annual “Rosebowl” Awards; Miss Axtmann was also the winner of the annual “Funny Award.” During the annual banquet the Junior Farmers reviewed the many happenings of the past year, includ­ ing the March Conference, Cultur- ama, International Delegates, Sing Swing and much more. “The Challenge is Mine in ‘89’’ is the theme for the club’s work for the coming year. The evening’s guest speaker was Elaine Pym of Guelph, a former Huron County Junior Farmer from Exeter, who spoke on her recent trip to West Germany sponsored by the Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario. Miss Pym’s four-week trip was hosted by members of the West German Land Union, and she travelled extensively through both West and East Germany. Saturday’s Annual Banquet clos­ ed with the induction of the county club’s 1989 officers during the traditional Candlelight Ceremony which was conducted by ROS Nick Geleynse of the Clinton OMAF office. He has conducted numerous workshops throughout North American and won several awards in recognition of his work with agribusiness profes­ sionals and farm families, and for his methods of self directed and small group instructions.
