Phone 887-9487 Community saddened by merchant's death Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby and Mrs. Laura Johnston spent New Year’s weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Tara and Erin of Ilderton. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Watson of Forest spent New Year’s weekend with their sister-in-law Mrs. Jean Pattison. Other guests at the same home on Monday were: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Marks, Steven, Darryl, Karrin and Michael of Belgrave; Mr. and Mrs. Don Pattison, Donna and Kevin of RR 3, Wingham. Neighbours and friends of this community were saddened to learn of the sudden death of Miss Jean McEwen who passed away at her home in Belgrave January 3, 1989. Jean will be sadly missed by all her many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson and Sherri of Barrie; Mr. and Mrs. Glyn Wide, Kimberly, Jennifer and Tre­ vor of Hamilton; Dr. Ray and Mrs. Nicholson of Williamsburg; and Mr. and Mrs. Rob Nicholson of Listowel spent New Year’s with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson. 10 tables at euchre Ten tables were in play at the first euchre for 1989 which was held in the W.I. Comrade Kobolak delivered the keynote address, followed by pre­ sentations of the Legion and Ladies Auxiliary Charters to Comrade Janes and Comrade Ross, the presentation of the new flag and framed photographs of the Royal Family by Mr. Cardiff, and by presentations to Mr. Lowe and his wife, Ruth, for their dedication in the re-building of the facility. Mr. and visited on grandsons Thompson Toronto at the home of Danny and Douglas’ mother Mrs. Marilyn Thompson and Mr. Chester Mac­ Donald of Goderich. Miss Bernice Thompson was also present. The Stage One study is only the first step in the process of producing a final master plan. After the public meetings, a revised Stage One report will be delivered to Huron County Council. If the council decides to proceed with Stage Two of the study the consultants will address such issues such as identify­ ing and evaluating potential areas for suitability as waste disposal sites and determining an appropriate combination of options for dealing with waste.
