Brussels Optimists have been especially active in improvements to the ball park. As well as raising money to help keep operations of the Legion halls going, the Ladies Auxiliary also gets involved in other community fundraising programs. The Blyth Branch, for instance, recently spearheaded a drive to raise money for a lift for the handicapped at the Blyth and District Community Centre. This group, an integral part of community activities in Brussels for the last decade, offers a catering service for events held at the B. M. & G.
