Obituaries ANNIE IRENE COLE Annie Irene Cole, a former resident of Bly th died at Huronview, Clinton on Wednesday, December 28, 1988. She was 70 years of age. She is survived by a sister, Mildred, Mrs. William Blake of Walton and a brother, Thomas of Blyth. She was predeceased by a brother, Milne, as well as by her parents. A private family funeral service was held at the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth on Friday, Dec. 30, 1988 at2 p.m. Intermentwas in Blyth Union Cemetery. LILLIAN McCLINCHE Y Lillian McClinchey of Blyth died Thursday, December 29,1988 at the Clinton Public Hospital in her 85th year. She was born Lillian Dell Ander­ son and married Gordon McClin­ chey. Surviving besides her hus­ band are her son Robert, and his wife Frances of Blyth; daughter Eileen Haggitt of Blyth; son William J. of Victoria, B.C.; daughter Jewell and her husband Alvin Plunkett of Auburn; and sons Norman and his wife Lila of Auburn, Dave and his wife Ruth of Auburn and John and his wife Maureen of Blyth. She was the sister of Oliver Anderson of Auburn and Mrs. Dorothy Fowler of Goderich. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grand­ children. The funeral service was held from the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth on Saturday, Dec. 31, 1988. Spring interment will be in Ball’s Cemetery, Hullett Township. BRENDA JAMIESON Brenda Jamieson died at the Peel Memorial Hospital, Brampton, on Thursday, Dec. 22, 1988. Mrs. Jamieson is survived by her husbandGil Jamieson, two sons, Reid and Davis, and her parents, Gerald and Kathleen Bridge. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Ban-y Bridge, Donna Scog­ gins, Cathy W atts an d J ackie Hayes. The funeral service was held at the Watt’s Funeral Home, Brussels chapel, with Reverend Charles Carpentier officiating, on Saturday, Dec. 24, 1988. Interment was in Brussels cemetery. EDITH GODDEN Edith May Godden of Ethel died in Listowel Memorial Hospital on December 23. She was 73. Mrs. Godden was the daughter of the late Samuel and Marguerite (Cuthbert) Whitehouse. She was predeceasedby her husband, Albert Godden. Mrs. Godden is survived by one daughter Yvonne at home, three sons, Mervin and his wife Helen of Shelburne, Rodney and his wife Gail of Brampton, Gary and his wife Ruth of Trowbridge; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Ethel and her husband, Alf Sutton of Ethel and her stepfather, Jake de Deolder of Holland. Visitation was held at the Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John St., Atwood where the funeral service was held on Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. Rev. Charles Carpentier of the Ethel United Church officiated. Pallbearers were Bob Cunning­ ham, Bob Bremner, Don Dunbar, Doug Evans, George Pearson, Jim Cardiff, Don Sanderson, Don An­ thony, Jim Anthony, Bruce Speiran and Wayne Pirrie. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel. As expressions of sympathy dona­ tions to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. STEWART MILLER Stewart Miller of 115 Alexander St. Brussels died January 2,1989 at Wingham and District Hospital. He was born in Morris township 91 years ago, the son of the late Robert and Margaret Miller. He was a farmer before his retirement to Brussels. He was a member of Brussels United Church and St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 284, AF and AM. He is survived by one brother, William R. Miller of Brusselsand one sister, Mrs. Jessie Boyd of Seaforth. One brother, Mervin Miller, predeceased him. Thefu neral service will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. from the Watts Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel with Rev. Charles Carpen­ tier officiating.
