JAMES EARL CALDWELL A lifelong resident of this area, James Earl Caldwell of Blyth, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 17, 1988 at Clinton Public Hospital in his 83rd year. Earl was born in East Wawanosh Township on Dec5,1906. He farmed north of Blythfor many years and before retiring in the village. He was a member of the Metho­ dist Church in Blyth then joined the Blyth United Church upon its union. Left to mourn are his wife, the former Margaret Govier, whom he married in Blyth on April 14,1937 as well as two sons Gerald Govier, Jack and ErleneCaldwell, all of Blyth. He was beloved grandfather of Lorna, Mrs. Randy Fraser; Nelson and Donna Caldwell; Gail, Mrs. Ron Ulch; Trent, Jackie and Chris Caldwell and four great-granchild- ren. He was a dear brother of Ella Carter, Dorothy, Mrs. Laurie Scott, Ralph and Gladys Caldwell. He was predeceased by one sister Margaret, and a daughter Faye and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1988 from the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth with Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez officiating. Spring interment Blyth Union Cem­ etery. Four nephews Keith Good, Bob Scott, Leslie Caldwell and Murray Govier were pallbearers. ANGUS MACDONALD SHAW Angus MacDonald Shaw passed away on Sunday, December 25,1988 in his 87th year. He is survived by his wife Mary Adella Shaw, two sons Douglas of Toronto and Peter and his wife Louise of Listowel. Three granddaughters Cathy and her husband Wayne of Atwood, Pauline and husband John, and Donna Shaw, all of Listowel also survive. He is sthe last surviving member of his family, predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shaw. The funeral took place from Watt Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Burial later in spring. M. FORDYCE CLARK Fordyce Clark, former Auburn- area resident died Sunday, January 1, 1989 at his home in Goderich. He was 80 years of age. Mr. Clark had farmed in Colborne township with his wife the former Irene Svoll until their retirment to Goderich several years ago. Hewasthe son of George Clark and the former Sarah Hawkins who predeceased him as did one brother, William. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters and two sons: Mary Nesbit of Port Perry; Margaret Latimer and Carolyn Binney, both of Calgary; George of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Philip of Col­ borne township. The funeral service was held January 3 from St. George’s Angli­ can Church, Goderich with inter­ ment in Colborne Cemetery. JANNIGJE [JENNY] PETERS Jenny Peters of Clinton, and formerly of RR2, Clinton, diedon December 22 in Clinton Public Hospital. She was 65. Born on February 13, 1923 in Aarlander Veen, The Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Nicholaas Jacob and Pieterneiia (Vis) Korte noeven. She was married to Arie Peters on May 3, 1947 in Leiden, The Netherlands. The Peters came to the Walton area from Holland in June of 1951, and they lived there for a year before moving to Milverton, where they resided for three years. In 1955, they bought a farm in the Brussels area, where they lived until 1974. They sold thatfarm and moved to Goderich Township where they built a new home, and had a poultry operation involved in egg produc­ tion . In 1988 the Peters sold this farm and moved to their home in Clinton. Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband, two daughters, Margaret and Ralph Buffinga of RR 1, Clinton, and Shelley Peters and her friend Harold Vander Gias of Clinton. She is also survived by four sons, Nico and his wife Gerda of Seaforth; Jake and his wife Janet of RR 2, Clinton; Ed and his wife Debra of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Nelson of Sarnia. Also surviving are one brother, Jacobus Kortenoeven in the Nether­ lands, and 12 grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Peters rested at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, and a funeral service was held at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church on December 24 withRev. Homer Samplonius presiding. The pallbearers were J ack Botma, Gerrit Dykman, John Koetsier, Marten Steenstra, Albert Valken- burg and John Westbrook. Inter­ ment was in Clinton Cemetery. GLENN A. KECHNIE Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Keith Hawkes of Byron United Church for Mr. Glenn Alexander Kechnie on Friday, Dec. 23, 1988 at the R. C. Madill Funeral Home, Mount Brydges, Ont. Mr. Kechnie of London died in Victoria Hospital, London on Dec. 21 in his 75th year. He is survived by his wife Genevieve, sons Sandy and Stephen of London, daughters Kath- ie of Toronto and Betsy Thomson of Ottawa and their families. Mr. Kechnie served with the RCAF during his lifetime and was a former resident of Mt. Brydges and Blyth, Ont. Mr. Kechnie was a member of several different choirs and musical bands during his lifetime. Rev. Ramirez of Blyth United Church conducted a commital ser­ vice at Blyth Cemetery with tempor­ ary entombment in Blyth Mauso­ leum. Acting as pallbearers were Stephen and Sandy Kechnie, James and Robbie Lawrie, Frank Bainton and Howard Wallace.
