Social Evening
The Wingham Firemen held a so-
cial evening at -the fire hall when
they.were joined by their wives for
an evening of euchre,
Mrs. Jim Carr won the prize for
high lady, Bill Bain for the high
man, Mrs. Dave Crothcrs low
lady -and Ken Foxton low for the
men. Stewart -Cowan was asked to
make the draw and Norm Croak-
wright was the winner.
Lunch was provided by the la-
dies.

which followed, were held at the
home of the bride's brother-in-law
and sister, Mr, and Mrs. Glenn Mc-
Michael, on Saturday afternoon.
Rev; Fred Taylor of the United
Church performed the ceremony
and, Miss Jane Crawford supplied
the music.
The groom is .the Son of Mr. and
Mrs, James Crawford of -Midland.
The bride is a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William. J, Ford of
Gorrie,
Given in marriage by her bro-
ther-in-law, Glenn MeMiehael, she
wore a street-length dress of gold
brocaded satin with Matching tiara

Sir Knight Scott commended the
officers for their fine work over
the past year. Short addresses
were given by -other members and
the meeting closed with the na-
tional anthem, after which lunch
was served.
Downies Sunoco Service caded satin and carrying white
mums, was the bridesmaid and
Peter Brown, Midland, -was best
man.
For travelling Mrs. Crawford
chose a brown dress topped with
an olive green coat and gold and
brown accessories. They will live
in. Midland.

and Debbie of Newton visited with
Wingham relatives and with Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Hall,
Reeve A. D. Smith attended the
meeting of the County Council at
Goderich last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Barbaree
and son Earl of Saskatoon and
Mrs. Ernest Potter of Guelph, vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mathers
and Mr. Henry Mathers last week.
Mr, and Mrs, Joseph L. Adair of
Huntsville and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
A, Adair of Toronto visited their
brother, brother, Jack Adair, and also their
mother, at Brussels on Monday.
M. and Mrs. Knutc Karlson of
London spent Sunday with Mr, and
Mrs, Alex Armstrong of Brussels
were week-end visitor's with Mr.
Mrs. Gordon Hall were Mr. and
Mrs. George Brown and John of
Blyth, Mr. and Mrs, Robert Hall
and Cindy of New Hamburg and
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hall of Brus-

Mr. and Mrs. Coffin and sons, of
Hespeler, have purchased the A. E.
Buckton house in the village and
moved here this week. One son goes
to high school: and one to public
school.
Mrs, A. Dowling was. allowed to
leave Victoria Hospital on Friday
to return borne, and she and La-
verne attended the funeral of her
mother, Mrs. William Robert Doo-
ley, of Mount Forest, ,on Saturday
afternoon. Mrs. Dooley passed away
in Palmerston Hospital after a long

Entertains at W.I.
BLUDIVALE— A Laymen's Ser-
vice was held In the United. Church
on Sunday morning, Those taking,
part were Rev, G. C. Mitchell, Alex
Corrigan, Carl Johnston, W, .1, Pea-
cock, James. Johnston, A men's
choir led the singing and gave two
special numbers, Ross Smith taking
a solo. Mrs. Glen Johnston was at
the organ.
Mr. Corrigan gave a description
of a week-end spent at the Kea-
wick Conference in June, where
there was an inspiring program
with five speakers and much. dis-
cussion on religion and life, Carl
Johnston, W. J, Peacock and James
Johnston also attended,
A recording of an address given
by Rev. Mr, Nicholson, principal of
Dalhousie University, served as is
sermon for this special Sunday.
Those taking part, including the
men's choir, repeated the program
at Whitechurch United Church on.
