Mrs. Peter Browne read the Scripture. Mrs. Wally Gibson led in the Litany. Members were remind ed of the Hu ron Deanery WA at St, Paul's Chu rch, Clinton, on Thursday, October 26th, at 2.30 p.m. Several thank you notes were read. Plans were made for the achievement day on November 18, and the group is to have a demonstration, "Family Meals with Two Fruits a Day". Marjorie Hopper made a. jellied fruit salad and Mrs. Johnston de- monstrated a cheese plate. The meeting closed with Taps and a dainty lunch of coffee, fruit salad and cheese, 0 - - 0 Fruit Fans The sixth meeting of the Ford- wich Fruit Fans was held at the home of Miss Janie Hambly, Anne Miller and Shirley Eurig demon- strated fresh apple bread. The roll 'call was answered. by 13 girls, The discussions were on "More Ways to Eat Fruit", "Fruit Salad Notes", "Dressing for Fruit Sal- ads" and "Sauces and Baking with Fruits". The girls sampled the apple bread made by Anne and Shirley and banana bread made by Jean Siefert. There was also a fruit salad made by the Carswell girls, 0 - 0 - 0 Belnaore Club The fifth meeting of the Belmore I homemaking club took place at the home of Irene Double.dee with seven girls attending and Miss Gilchrist, the county home econo- mist, as guest. In the absence of Mrs. Templeman, Lorna Woods took charge. After the 4-H pledge Marjorie Kieffer gave the minutes of the last meeting,.Mrs. Kieffer and Mrs. Simmons gave notes on fruit for dinner and supper and group work took place on the building of menus. The roll call, which was. a dried fruit and its use, was answered by all members. The minntes of the last meeting were ready by Nancy Elliott. Notes were taken on "Fruit Ac- companiments" "Fruit Specialties" gave helpful hints. -She also dis- cussed Achievement Day activities. Lorna Woods demonstrated the making of pastry and an apple pie for which Corinne Kieffer and jahe VViitais prepared the apples. It was decided to hold the next meeting on October 28th, at the Simmons home.
