FORDWICIH---The WA, of Tenity
Anglican Church met for its Oc-
tober meetin g at the home- of Mrs,
Ruby Foster with 12 members and
two visitors present, Mrs. Foster
presided the meeting
with the hymn "0 Lord of Hosts
Whose Glory Fills" followed by the
members' and the Lord's prayer.
Mrs. Peter Browne read the
Scripture. Mrs. Wally Gibson led in
the Litany. Members were remind
ed of the Hu ron Deanery WA at
St, Paul's Chu rch, Clinton, on
Thursday, October 26th, at 2.30 p.m.
Several thank you notes were
read. The roll call WA N' answered

garnishing, table arrangements,
and fruit specialties. Plans were
made for the achievement day on
November 18, and the group is to
have a demonstration, "Family
Meals with Two Fruits a Day".
Marjorie Hopper made a. jellied
fruit salad and Mrs. Johnston de-
monstrated a cheese plate. The
meeting closed with Taps and a
dainty lunch of coffee, fruit salad
and cheese,

Fruit Fans
The sixth meeting of the Ford-
wich Fruit Fans was held at the
home of Miss Janie Hambly, Anne
Miller and Shirley Eurig demon-
strated fresh apple bread. The roll
'call was answered. by 13 girls,
The discussions were on "More
Ways to Eat Fruit", "Fruit Salad
Notes", "Dressing for Fruit Sal-
ads" and "Sauces and Baking with
Fruits". The girls sampled the
apple bread made by Anne and
Shirley and banana bread made by
Jean Siefert. There was also a
fruit salad made by the Carswell
girls,

The fifth meeting of the Belmore
I homemaking club took place at
the home of Irene Double.dee with
seven girls attending and Miss
Gilchrist, the county home econo-
mist, as guest. In the absence of
Mrs. Templeman, Lorna Woods
took charge.
After the 4-H pledge Marjorie
Kieffer gave the minutes of the
last meeting,.Mrs. Kieffer and Mrs.
Simmons gave notes on fruit for
dinner and supper and group work
took place on the building of
menus. Miss -Gilchrist examined k
menus prepared by the girls and'

The Belenore Berries
The sixth meeting was held at
the home, of Sally and' Mark Jeff-
ray on Wednesday. The roll call,
which was. a dried fruit and its use,
was answered by all members. The
minntes of the last meeting were
ready by Nancy Elliott.

groups and each given a menu in
which to fill out the, blank spaces

The Seventh- meeting. of the Bel-
grave Fruitettes was held at the
home of Mrs: Clark Johnston on
Saturday evening. The 4-H pledge,
motto and roll call answered by 11
girls opened the meeting. Linda
Johnston read 'the minutes. Mary
and Catherine de Yong will. have
-the next meeting on Saturday af-
ternoon.
Mrs. Johnston explained to the

Breslau last Thursday when the light van in the
background was demolished on impact with a
stake truck. The driver, 19-year-old John Hiller

No Charity
IINFEF, the United Nations
Children's Fund, isn't charity. It's
helping countries to help -them-
selves provide food, trained person-
nel, drugs and treatment centres
for their chilldren. Governments
must request UNICEF aid .and then
match the UNICEF contribution
with local goods and services,
with their leaders, Mrs. Scholtz and
Mrs. Carl IvIcClenaghan, and were
assisted. .by Mrs. Carl Weber and
Mrs. Victor Emerson, to pin their
patterns on the goods, and. cut, and
mark the section -for sewing, They
will meet next on November 3rd.

Lucky Lassies
The Lakelet Lucky Lassies held
their seventh and eighth meetings
together at the home of Mrs. Percy
Huth with eleven members pre-
sent. The roll . calls for the two
meetings were "Fruit desserts my
family likes" and "Fruit desserts
which I made."
Notes were taken on "Fruit Ac-
companiments" "Fruit Specialties"
gave helpful hints. -She also dis-
cussed Achievement Day activities.
Lorna Woods demonstrated the
making of pastry and an apple pie
for which Corinne Kieffer and jahe
VViitais prepared the apples. It was
decided to hold the next meeting on
October 28th, at the Simmons home.
A delicous lunch was served by
Mrs. Doubledee and Irene and the
apple pie was also sampled, Mrs.
Kieffer thanked Mrs. Douhleclee for
the use of her home, and the meet-
ing came to a close.
