The meeting opened with the pledge and the minutes of the last meeting were read by Lorna Woods. The girls were given pamphlets on various items. It was decided to buy a record book for the treasurer's reports. The girls dis- cussed methods of improving their record books, the importance of breakfasts, and the making of fruit cup. 0 - -0 - Lucky Lassies The Lakelet Lucky Lassies held their fifth meeting at the home of Mrs. Arnold Gadke. Ten members answered the roll call, "The fruits I ate yesterday", The members gave breakfast menus from-last week's home as- signment and notes were taken on fruits for dinner and supper, such as fruit in the main course, fruit accompaniments, salad plates, frult for dessert,frtutin erd servingarie lunches, fruitdessert and The home assignment was: make a fruit pie or tarts and file the recipe and report the results in the record book. Gilchrist, will be present at this meeting. 0 - 0 - 0 Baste 'n-Stitch The second meeting of the Baste 'n-Stitch girls' club was held on Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Carl McClenaghan with ten mem- bers present, After the opening exercises the girls answered 'the roll call, naming something found in their sewing box and repeated the pledge, The girls were shown how to lay out their natterns on the material and how to shrink cotton goods. Oarbara Pleicfopti and Bill Craw- ford were in charge on Thursday night when 32 boys turned out for the Cub meeting at the Scout House, Following the regular opening ceremony Miss Pickford took the Tenderpads upstairs for instruc- tion and tests, while Bill Crawford conducted several games for the more advanced Cubs in the main room, Gary Brenzil earned his collec- tor's proficiency badge and Ken- ny Aitchison passed the cleanliness test for his First Star. Meeting FORDWICH—The C.G.I.T. held the first meeting of the season at the home of Margaret Ann Wilson with 30 girls attending. Beverly Horsburg read the minutes. Miss Anne Miller had charge of the worship service assisted by Karen Carswell. Mrs. Harold Pol- lock gave the study book. Plans for the winter months were dis- cussed. The meeting closed with Taps. CHARLES ROSS WAS WED ON SATURDAY A wedding took place in Wing- ham Baptist Church on, Saturday afternoon at two o'clock when Lorecn Mary Rands, daughter of the late James Rands, of Clinton., became the bride of Charles Donald Bonner Ross, son' of Mr, and Mrs. Henry Ross, Scott St., Wingham. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Ray White and Mrs. White's sister provided the wedding music. Following the ceremony the wed- ding party enjoyed a dinner at' the home of the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Joe Plunkett, of Auburn. Bluevale Blossoms The fifth meeting of the Bluevale Blossoms was held at the home of the. leader, Mrs. J, Nicholson, on October 2, The meeting opened with the repeating of the 4-H Pledge followed by the roll call, The Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Rose Marie Nicholson. 'Ideas for record hook covers Were discussed, Miss Nancy Tay- lor, assistant leader, spoke on "Fruit for Dinner and Breakfast", Mrs, J. Nicholson reviewed the topic, "Fruit for Dessert". The home assignments were given and the meeting closed with the na- tional anthem. Everyone enjoyed a piece of cherry pie, which was made earlier in the meeting, The girls' held their sixth meet- 'ing at Nancy Taylor's on Thursday ' evening.
