During the afternoon the happy couple was presented with a nylon frieze upholstered platform rocker, a walnut step-up end table and a brass magtizine rack by their family "and several nie who were in attendance.. Among those present were Mrs. gto ti mo her, Mrs, Frances Strong, of Gorrie, .who is in her 90th year. They also received many cards of congratulations, A bountiful picnic supper was en- joyed on the lawn, The table was centered with .a, lovely decorated ! wedding Cake for the celebration, also a birthday cake for Mrs. Pen- nington, who celebrated her birth- day on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Pennington have a i family of six children, four sons, , George, of Carrick Twp., Everett,. We are pleased to report that Jim Wool- cock, son of Mr. and MM.'John Woolcock, and Lorne Baird, son of Mr, and Mrs. Russel Baird, were among the boys who brought their calves over the line. Last year their brothers, Ian Wooleock and Leon- ard Baird were winners in the calf scramble. Home GORRIE — Mrs, arati Adeline Wood, '73, .died suddenly at her lhome on Sunday, September 40, Mrs. Wood was born June 6, 1888, in Carrick Township,' the daughter of 'the late -George Holtzinare and his wife, Priscilla Bilger. She Mar- ried Joseph Wood on September 4, 1907, who predeceased her in 1:954. They had farmed in Howieli Town- ship for many years prior to moving to Gorrie in 1950. She was a member of the Gorrie United Church. Surviving, are one son, Rebert, of Howlek, a daughter, Mrs. ',taxi (Mabel) Toner; two .brothers, Sam- uel Holtzman, Clifford and PIOry Holtzman, Listowell. five sisters, Mrs, Annie McPhail, of Cilifftird; Mrs, Priscilla Bell, 'Walkerton; Mrs. Lydia Heath, Galt; Mita, Dan- iel (Mary) keSter of •'Milchney; Mrs. Marian Kinzie of Swift Citr- rent, 'Sask., and two grandchildren, Funeral services were held at:the Moir funeral home, Tuesday„ and conducted by Rev.
