Takes Devotions

were in charge of the regular
monthly meeting of the W.A. held
in the ,dhureh schoolroom on Tues-
day of last week. Mrs. MeCutch-
eon took the devotional period and
the _hymn "Jesus the Very Thought
of Thee" was sung, followed by
Scripture by Mrs. John Snell, the
story of Pentecost in Acts.
Mrs. MeCutcheon gave the com-
mentary and hymn "0 Thou Who
Camest from Above" followed by
prayer, closed the meeting.
The secretary and treasurer gave
their reports and 'roll call was ans-
wered by 11 members and one vis-
itor. Mrs. William McLean and
Mrs. John Snell will be in charge of
the June meeting. Quilting and
lunch followed.
with Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Brown.
Dr. and Mrs. F. O. Fraser, Sud-
bury, who have 'been visiting at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fraser,
returned home on Monday. They
came to attend the funeral of the
late Mrs, George Fraser, Ethel.
Miss Ella Fraser, Burlington, is
visiting at the same home.

Funeral on Friday
FORDWICH—Frederick Denser-
ling, lent-Lillie resident of this vil-
lage died in - the Palmerston Hos-
pital on Tuesday (*last week after
a short ..illness, occasioned by a
!heart attack.. ,,
He, was born on 'Concession 17,
Howick,. on February.7, 1889, a son
of the late. Louis; Demerling and
Frederik•a-Gadke. IFor'many' years
• lie operated threshing equipment
in this area, 'and later ,became a
maintenance. 'man at the Spinrite
Mill in Listowel. A•member of the
Anglican Church, he Was married
to the former •Elsie Adams, who
survives. •
..Also surviving are nine brothers,
•William, of Kurtzville; Albert,
Hyde Park; John, Fenelon Falls;
Edward, Neustadt; Ezra, Eldon and
Harvey, of Clifford; Milton, of Tor-
onto; Anson, of Fordwich; and one
sister, Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Mass,
of 'Hamilton. Two brothers prede-

Anglican Church von Friday at 2
p.m., followed by interment in the
Fordwich Cemetery. The pallbear-

Murray.

met on Monday evening with ei-
even ,Couples present. An evening
of howling was much, enjoyed by
all, This was followed by a wor-
ship service in charge of Mr. and
Mrs. John Wray.
The theme, "To Live Must Die",
was especially timely for the spring
season and stressed that, just as
the seed must die in order to !bear •
fruit, so must we surrender our
wills and lives to God if we wish
to reach ultimate fulfilment.
After a brief business period
lunch and a soda' half hour were
enjoyed. The evening's arrange-
ments were in charge of the fol-

stitute held a take-out tea fashion
show With millinery display and
table of homemade baking in the
community hall on 'Saturday after-
noon. A fairly good crowd attend-
ed.
Everyone who had afternoon tea,
took their cup and saucer home
with them. it was something dif-
ferent from the ordinary run of af-
ternoon teas.
