Mr. and Mrs. Ken Jacklin of Kitchener, visited relatives in the community over the. week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wray and little daughter of St. Marys, called on friends in the village Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Meelement and little son. of Listowel visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Torn MeClement. IVIrs, Wellington Hargrave visit- ed Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wray in Toronto. Miss Ruth Hibberd of 1Vioneton visited over the week-end with her parents. Mr. and. Mrs. Robert Hibbern, Miss Nancy Sothera. underwent an appendectomy Saturday night at the K & W Hospital, Kitchener. Miss Judy and Master Jerry Durst of Toronto are spending a few weeks with their grandpar- ent*, Mr. and Mrs, George Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lohr left last week for a three week holiday in Florida. Mr. and Mrs, Glenn Martin and Mr. Neil Baylor attended the Sportsmen. Show in Toronto wed- nesday of last week. Mr, Henry Campbell of Stratford is spending a couple of weeks with Mr. .and Mrs. Bob Campbell, Doctor James Hutchison of Cleveland, Orio, is spending some time a( the home of his brother, Mr. Tom Hutchison and Mrs. Hutchison. Mrs. Lorne Siefert is visiting in Wroxeter with her mother, Mrs. M. Gibson, who is ill. - Mr, and Mrs. Alex Keith and Mr. Roy •Gadke, spent one day last week in Stratford with their 'aunt, Mrs. Susan Nairn,'who is confined to hospital there. Mrs. Leslie Loughran. returned home last week fro mPalmerston Hospital, where she was confined for two weeks. Walker WINGHAM SKIT PRESENTED IT MISSION BAND FORDWIOH — The meeting of the Silver Star Mission Band was held Sunday morning in the Ford- wich United Church Sunday School rooms, opening with the Mission Band purpose and hymn, Roll call, a word with ,the verse "Love," was. answered' by 34 members. Worship service was hold with the singing of several children's, hymns and scriptures. A skit by four junior members was enjoyed by all, Mrs. Ben Gibson took the pri- marY class story, and Mrs. Robert Gibson related the story of Solo- mon's 4000 horse stalls, for the juniors. Birthday greetings were sung to Jim Harding, Bill Carswell, Linda Gibson and Lorne Wilson. More used Christmas cards and used stamps arc needed to complete the overseas packages. H. Cronin Was Born in England Arthur Henry. Cronin died at his borne, R. R. 3, Wingham, on Thurs- day, March 16, He had suffered a long, illness, Dgeeas.ed was born in London, England, 59 years ago, a son of the late John and Selina Cronin, I-Ta- was educated there and mine to Canada-in 1913. Mr. Cronin worked on a faim at Kincardine. During World War I he served with the Army, In 1928 he moved from Kincar- dine to Caledon, and it was there that he married Lenora Falconer in June, 1934. From 1949 to 1959 Mr. Cronin worked as a telephone lineman. He retired at that time and came to this area the following year:. He was a member of the Angli- can Church and of the Lpi., No. 250. at Caledon. Surviving are his wife, a son, John Wilson Cronin, of Orange- ville, and two sisters, Miss Daisy Cronin, living in Manitoba, and Mrs. Fred Graddon, England, and one grandchild. He was predeceas- eadndb jani by threebrothers, Fred, Stanley . The .funeral was held from the R. A. Currie and Sons funeral home on Saturday with Rev.
