The Finale brought back all the
skaters of the second half: of the
Satutday evening, before the
walls of a Danish. -castle,. and un-
der gaily decorated lights, the
,Wingham Figure Skating Club's
'nearly 70 members, their two pro-
fessionals and Larry, Bennett of
Guelph College F.S.C„ presented a
very colorful and fast-moving show
of one' and a half hours' duration.
The program began promptly at
.8.30, 'with 20 skaters demonstrat-
ing how "Patch" is marked on ice,
waltz-eights are -Skated --in the
"school figures" so Often mentioned
in the press. Bonnie Jardin and
Gloria.,Reed ably directed them.
Dressed as Hans Christian An-
dersen, Wilfred Pocock skated his
solo, excellently and eontinue4 in
the delightful duet with Joan Rem-
ington as Thumbalina, fairly fly-
ing at.tirries,
Always favorites, 11 of the 12
younger members of the club, bill-
ed as the Danish Dainties, were
led by Steve -Gerrie and assisted
by seven other older members-as
, they sang and played their games
on lee. Little Kim Mellor was
detained at -horde by chicken pox.
Jean Welwood and Sandra Sed-
don were indeed the sweethearts
of Copenhagen as they skated.-their
pair.
Throughout the evening, many
dances, increasing in difficulty,
were skated by groups,
comPeaed of, a skater will) hopes to
try the (tar= at 'the coming tests,
with a partner who had already
passed it. Later in the evening
these dances featured some Mein-
hers of the adult group in the
Dutch Waltz and Canasta Tangle.
These should be a challenge to all
skating fans to inquire about next
year's group.
The highest dance ,skated was
the Harris Tango, one of the -Sil-
ver Dance group, beautifully skated
by Jean Gurney and her partner,
Larry Bennett.
Every carnival needs comedy and
this was supplied by Bill Rintoul
and Douglas Hamilton,
The 24 Junior Danes were led
by Patricia Zurbrigg and Vicki

Harried in Edmonton
William George Laidlaw, MSc.,
of Edmonton, Alta., son of Robert
E. Laidlaw of Wingham and the
late Mrs,-Laidlavir, was married on
Thursday, February 23 at 7 p m. at
McDougal United Church, Edmon-
ton.
The bride is the former Lucia
Mundon of Waimea, Hawaii,
daughter of Me-. and Mrs, George
Mundan of the same address. Rev.
R. Taylor performed the ceremony.
The bride 'was given in marriage
by John Cross, of Edmonton. She
wore a white wool jersey dress
with fur trim,
Guests from Vancouver, Wing-
ham.; and Edmonton attended the
wedding and the, reception which
followed at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. 'Cross,
Mr. and Mrs. Laidlaw will" reside
in Edmonton, where the groom is
teaching at the University of Al-
berta.
Rosenhagen, followed by Paul
Fleury and Norman Gerrie. All
were in Danish costume and skat-
ed a very colorful Timber.
Susan -Spry was well-named. the
Princess of Copenhagen in her
,50;0.
After a ten-minute intermission
Jean 'Gurney skated a delightful
solo number and Bill Rintoul de-
monstrated that he could skate
seriously top. Some speetacular
military manoeuvres followed with
Jean Gurney and Peggy Rae lead-
ing the fast-stepping group of 24
girls in white and red satin cos-
tumes, complete with helmets. As
they left the ice, Marian Farrier
skated a beautiful solo, Then ten
majorettes,' equipped with batons,
joined Wilfred Pocock- to execute a
baton number.

Elect Officers
Wilson Gregg, of Paisley, was
elected president of th'e Bruce
County Junior Farmers' Associ-
ation at 'their annual meeting in
Chesley. He succeeds James
Strong, of Tara, the new provincial
director,
Other officers elected, were:
Bessie Moffat, Teeswater, first
vied-president; Arthur MeKague,
Teeswater, second vice-president;
William Mcblure, Chesley, secre-
tary-treasurer. Duncan Campbell,
of Ripley, and- Beverly Kingston,
of Paisley, will he association dir-
ectors of the Bruce Federation of
Agriculture.
Howard Ribey, of Port Elgin,
will represent the association on
the Bruce .County Farm Safety
Council,

Once again the Tenth Revue
closed with the national anthem by
tired but pleased executive mem-
bers, excited skaters and happy
spectators.
Watch for the names of your fa-
vorite skaters after the tests, and
next year be ready to again at-
tend figure skating carnival night
in. Wingham.

efforts which have been put for-
ward to ensure the Continuance of
the Scout movement in Wingharn.

real pride in their new quarters.
With care, he said, the property
will serve a useful purpose for
many years to come. Mr. McKinney

the town for the part the leaders
play in bringing up fine citizens
for the community.

bray. He also presented proficiency
badges to three Cubs: Don Collar,
