WROXETERL-Mrs. E. W. Clarke
opened her hotne to the members
of the WA, on Tuesday evening
for the Christmas meeting. In
••• keeping with the theme, Christmas
.% music was played until the meet-
ing began. Mrs, H. Coupland and
Mrs. Clarke were in charge. - The
worship centre . was tastefully de-
corated for the feStive season.
Rev, Clarke presided at the pi-
ano to supply accompaniment for
the carols which interspersed the
story of the Nativity, given by the
two ladles in charge. Mrs. Clarke
sang "Holy Night" and Mildred
Couplanid told a story, "The One
Star". "Hark the Herald, Angels
Sing" was sung by the members.
lVicCutcheon presided for
the business. There was . an ex-
change of gifts and the usual re-
ports were given. It was announc-
ed that Mrs. L. McGee and MrS. K.
„ Bennett would be in charge of the
January meeting. Twenty-five new
hymn i books have been purchased
for the church,
Mrs. Bennett read a report of the
nominating committee, The 1961
officers are as follows: Pres., Mrs.
Charles McCutcheon; first vice-
pres., Mrs, R. Louttit; secoad
press, Mrs. S. Gallaher; see., krs.

Rev. Clarke chaired the meeting
for election of officers. It was
moved by Mrs. Hart and seconded
by Mrs. Bennett that this slate of
officers be accepted for 1961.
A delicious lunch was served by
Mrs, Clarke and Mrs. Coupland,

CHRISTMAS MEETING
The Christmas meeting of the
Got oath vening Auxiliary was
held on Tuesday with the call to
worship given by the president,
Mrs. Leonard Phillips. • "0 Come
nil Ye Faithful" was the opening
hymn, followed by the Scripture
ChpiStmas message, which Was read
alternately and led by Mrs, Lou
Palmer. '
The carol, ."0 Little Town of
Bethlehem" was sung and Mrs.
Stewart Scott gave the meditation,
showing that the birth of Christ
,vas the fulfilment of prophecy in
God's plan for the world. Mrs.
Winnifred Lott led in prayer.
Guests of the evening were Miss
Jloria. Reed and Allan. Leggatt,
who favored with piano soh).
Many gems from God's Word were
presented 'when each member re-
:Tended to the roll call with a
.'erse of Scripture portraying the
Christmas theme, Offertory pray-
er was given by Miss Casemore.
An informative reading was giV-
en by Mrs. Stewart Scat, "Christ-
mas Customs Around • the World",
particularly telling of Christmas
traditions in Finland, 'tortoni and
Palestine, The .article also told of
the origin of the use of Christmas
.holly, the 'ule log, the lighted
tree, the hanging of stockings by
the fireside and singing carols,
Two Christmas carolS, "The First
iNeel" and "While Shepherds
Watched Their blocks by Night"
were sung in unison after Which
the yearly reports of all commit-
tees were given and adopted.
"'The Black Madonna" was the
title of an interesting story given
by Mrs.Erase MacDonald and
stressed the need of 11111111111;y on
the part of every church member,
Mrs, George Malcolm presided ov-
