Officers for 1961
DONNYEROOK- The December
meeting orthe was. and Ladies'
Aid was held Thursday evening at
the home of Mrs, Sam Thompson
with a fair attendance, Mrs. Ed-
ward Robinson had charge of the.
W,M.S. meeting and opened with
a verse of Scripture, followed by
ail singing "Joy to the World".The.
Christmas lesson was read and a
hymn was sung.
- Mrs, Torn Armstrong gave a
Christmas • reading, "The Wise
Men and Herod". Mrs. Charles
Jefferson gave a reading, "The
Night the Wise Men Were Warn-
ed". After singing "Silent Night"
a candle-lighting service was held..
A candle was given each member
and each one was asked to light
her candle from her neighbor's, as
a symbid of peace and goodwill to-

Mrs. Stuart Chamney read a
chapter from the study book and
gave the financial. report. Mrs.
Wesley Jefferson gave a Christ-
mas reading for 'Christian steward-
ship. Susan Thompson received the
offering and Mrs. Robinson closed
the meeting with prayer.
The Ladies' Aid was in charge of
Mrs. Wesley Jefferson, who -chose
Christmas carol singing instead of
the usual program and prayer
closed f the meeting.
The election of officers for the
earning year took place. They are
as follows: Pres., Mrs. Charles Jef-
ferson; first vice-press, Mrs. Tom
Armstrong; second vice-pres., Mrs,
William Hardy; sec.-treas.,' Mrs.
Stuart Chamney; ear. see., Mrs. Er-
nest Snowden; Christian steward-
ship, Mrs. Wesley Jefferson; Mis-
sionary Monthly, Mrs. Hilliard .Tef-
ferson; supt. of Heralds, Mrs, Ray
Hanna; organist, Mrs. J. Thomp-
son; asst,, Mrs. Hilliard Jefferson;
flower fund COMM, Mrs. Cordon
Naylor; supply, Mrs. Morley Johns-
ton; citizen and temperance, Mrs.
James Leddy; preSs, Mrs. Wesley
Jefferson.
Officers elected for Ladies' Aid
were: Pres., Mrs, Tom Armstrong;
sed.-treas., Mrs. Edward Robinson.
A bazaar was held at the close
of the meetings which provided
the Ladies'- Aid with a nice sum of
Money, Lunch was served by the
hostess, assisted by Mrs. lames
Leddy and Mrs. William Hardy.
Mrs. Edward Robinson invited the
society to her borne for the Janu-
ary meeting.

Council Meeting
The Morris Township council
met on Dee, 5th with all members
present. The, minutes of the last
regular meeting and the special
meeting of Nov. 21st were read and
adopted on /notion of Walter
Shortreed and Ross Duncan.
