SUNDAY SPEAKER
Mrs, G. W. Tiffin was the guest
speaker at the Wingham 'United
Church on Sunday morning, rep-
resenting the women of the church
in her capacity- as president of the
Huron Presbyterial Woman's Mis-
sionary Society. She chose as her
subject "The Unfinished Task",
arising from the texts, "Ye shall be
witnesses unto me", and "Go ye
into an the world and preach the
gospel to every creature":. These
commissions, even after 2000 years
are still unfulfilled, and to that end
each person has his own individual
task,
W cannot keep Christ's love to
ourselves, God has chosen us for
witnesses and we Are obligated to
Carry the mission of the Church to
everyone. In these days the needs
of the Church have to be exarnined,
we are living in a new era anc
Christians must leave all old pat-
terns and advance with the new:
Mrs. Tiffin 'spoke of the small
percentage of Christians in Asiatic
countries and told how the non-
Christian percentage of population
is increasing. She followed with the
encouraging feature of the format,

A regular meeting of the Ho-wick
Township Council wa.s held in the
clerk's office on December 3rd.
All members were present and the
reeve, Arthur Gibson, was in the
chair. The minutes of the last
regular meeting and special meet-
ing were read and on motion of
McMichael-and Gibson were adopt-
ed as read,
McMichael-Gibson--That we 'ap-
point high school trustees for a
two year term as follows: Listowei
District High School, T. J.
Schaeffer; Norwell District High
School, Wm. F. Campbell; and
Wingham District High School,
