Belgrave Cubs
Belgrave Wolf Cubs met on Tues-
day night for their regular meeting
with a fair attendance. Some of the
older boys are studying for exams.
Mrs, Kenneth Wheeler opened the
meeting with the Grand •Howl, flag
salute, the Lor4 prayer, and in-
spection.
A -very exciting game was led by
Mrs. Harold Vincent, During in-
struction period, Mrs. Vincent re-
viewed knots and patron saints
with the new boys.
All the other leaders were busy
teaching semaphore. The older boys
had a test and some of them did
very well,
The Cubs learned a' new song,
"Trusty Tommy", which, they will
sing for their mothers at the next
meeting, Don't forget to come,
mothers!
After a game the meeting closed
with Taps. Gary Jamieson got his
First Star and the collectors and
toymakers badge.

Cameron had the high triple with
572.
Al Hafermehl walked away with
the gents' high single with 289
and Ernie Walker took the high
triple with 670.

Ladies' Bowling
The Zoorni6g Zebras continued in
their winning wayS by picking up
four points for the second consecu-
tive week and increasing their first
place lead to three points over the
Krazy Kats. Their victims this week
were the Tired Tigers.
Helen Gardner rewrote the rec-
ord books by posting a 296 single,
highest of the season, and finished
the evening With a 716 triple.
In the other contests, the Busy
Beavers and, the Slippery Seals
downed the Krazy Kats and the
Lazy Leopards py identical three to
one scores.
Standing: Zooming Zebras, 25;
Krazy Kats, 22; Slippery Seals, 21;
Lazy Leopards, 18; Busy Beavers,
17; Tired Tigers, 17.

Men's Bowling League
Ian aVicLaurin, falling only 22
pins short of this season's high
single, with a 328 score and a 761
triple, along with Hap Swatridge's
678 'triple, led the CKNX team to
a 5 to 2 victory over the Lees en-
try. This win increases the CKNX
lead to four and a half points over
the Lees team.
Burke's team, by virtue of a 7-0
win• over the Mustangs are making
a strong bid for third place with
25 points, only two and a half 'be-
hind the Hydro team, who cur-
rently hold this position.
In the final contest Jim Bain,
.having his best night of the season
with a 697 triple, helped the Rock-
ets to launch a 5-2 win over the
third place Hydro team and move
seven and a half points ahead of
the last place Mustangs.
MacLENNAN SCORES,
PEE-WEES TIE GAMES,
2 SQUIRT TEAMS LEAD
The Pee-Wee and Squirt hockey
teams got a work-out at the arena
on Saturday. Teams Two and
Four in the Pee-Wee grouping
battled it out to a 1-1 tie with
Doug' Ewing getting the goal for
Team Two and Brian Carr scoring
for Team Four,
Teams One and Three came up
with a 2-2 tie. John Douglas cap-
tured both counters for Two, while
Brian Walden and Brian Clark
Were the marksmen for their op.
ponents. Gary Carter and Neil
Renwick, both Team One players,
wete sent to the penalty' box for
tripping.
In the Squirt series Team Five
came through With t large Margin
over Team Seven with a score of
7-0. Brad Elliott ,was the star,
copping four goals, followed by
Paul Templeman with two and
Monty Telhplernan with one.
Teams Six and Eight had a clos-
er battle. Norman MacLennan
Was a ball of fire for Team Six,
banging in no less than five of
the goals, the entire score for his
team, which brought there. a 5.3
victory. :Tim McCarter with two
and Grant Heywood with oar were
the marksmen for Team Eight.
WINGHAM JUNIORS
WIN FIRST GAME.
Two of last year's championship
teams mixed it up on Port Elgin
ice last Friday evening, the Wing-
ham Junior "D" squad coming out
on the top end of a 7-6 count
The Port Elgin entry last year
emerged as Junior "D" champions,
,While the Wingham Jokers, who
are playing Junior "D" this year
were the Juvenile "C" champs last
season
Friday night's game was a
rough-and-tumble affair, marked
by no less than 25 penalties, in-
cluding six majors and one mis-
conduct. The teams shared fairly
evenly in these doubtful honors.
Bill Dallimore, Doug Lockridge
and Ray Walker of the Wingham
team scored two goals each; and
Gary Templeman banged in the
seventh. Ross Dudgeon of the
lakesiders scored three and the re-
maining markers for his team
were singles. Doug Lockridge,
playing a rugged game on defence
and John Merkley in the net were
rated as standouts in this first
game of the 'season,
The Jokers went out for an early
lead in the first period, the frame
ending 4-1. The lead was held
throughout the remainder of the
game, the count at the end of the
second -being 5-4 and the final score
7-6.
The Wingham line-up was as

Skinn, Hotchkiss, Coultes, Mahood;
forward lines: centre, John Fry-

Miss Lucy Thompson, of Bronte,
visited Miss Josephine and Mr.
David McAllister over the week-end
and attended the 40th wedding an-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs, Joseph
Thompson, of Gederich, which was
held in Belgrave, Saturday even-
ing.
Mr. and MrS. Wesley Jefferson
and Debbie attended the 50th wed-
ding anniversary of the latter's
grandparents, Mr, and Mrs, Wil-
lows Mountain, of Londesboro,
which was a surprise party held on
Wednesday evening at the home of
their daughter (Gladys), Mrs. Elgin
loslingo and Mr. josling, Londes-
boro, The room was tastefully dec-
orated with gold streamers, The
table was centered with a three-
tiered wedding cake. The bride and
groom of 50 years were 'presented
With a Steptable and toffee table
to match, also a large plant of yel-
low mums. We wish them many
more years of happiness together.

Last week I said "guess what
team will be on the rampage," and
now we know. Ernie Walker's
SpcJials were not to be held down
and finished the night with a count
of 9 points, As the cookie said,
"that's the way it crumbles," What
impresses your reporter is the fact
that while everyone likes to have
a good score, yet the chief object
is to be there and have a real fine
evening's pleasure. I have yet to
witness anyone feeling low because
he or she had a poor count. You
see, there is always next week to
look forward to and who knows,
that may be the big night,
