WROXETER— The November
meeting of the Tuesday Starlight
Group was held in the home of
Mrs. Ken McMichael. Mrs. H.
Reidt and Mrs. Ira McLean were
in charge of devotions.
The meeting opened with the
theme, followed by a prayer and
the Lord's Prayer in unison. Miss
Elva Hupfer gave a talk on her
trip to England, Holland, Belgium
and France. She also had with her
souvenirs she had brought back,
such as hand-made lace from Bel-
gium, neaklace set with a stone
from the River Rhine, and many
others.
Hymns were sung, Mrs. Glen
McMichael read the topic. A poem
"A Missionary's Prayer" was read
by Mrs. I. McLean.
During the business portion of
the meeting it was decided to hold
the Christmas meeting on Tuesday,
Dec. 20th and to have an exchange
of gifts. The officers for the com-
ing year were named and are:
Pres., Mrs, Glen McMichael;
vice-pres., Mrs. Ken IVEeMichael;
sec.,' Mrs. Jack Clarke; treas., Mrs.
Don McLaughlin. The catering
committee for the next banquet
is Mrs. R. Gibson, Mrs. C. Gordon
and Mrs. Ken McMichael.
The bale this year has been pack-
ed and sent to the Mission Hospi-
tal at Queen Charlotte Islands,
B.C., where Dr. Bruce Palmer is in
charge.
Shower and Dance
WROXETER—A large crowd at-
tended the shower given in hon-
or of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Gibson
(Faye Smith) In the community
hall last Friday evening, when
Miss Anne Douglas read the ad-
dress and Miss Catherine McDon-
ald presented them with a gift of
money, The evening was spent
dancing to the music of Felker's
orchestra.
LEGION AUXILIARY
HOLDS NOMINATIONS
Mrs. Robert Casemore, vice-presi-
dent, was in charge for the regular
meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary to
the Canadian Legion last Wednes-
day night at the Legion Home.
Mrs, J. W. English, secretary, read
the minutes.
It was announced that the joint
Christmas party for the branch and
the auxiliary members' children
would be held at the town hall on
December 15,
Mrs. Vance Sanderson chaired
the nomination of officers and the
election will take place at the next
Meeting, the last Wednesday of the
Month, The ladies are asked to take
Christma§ cake and shortbread
cookies, and a 75c gift to be used
in an exchange, to that meeting.
Mrs, Alvin Sell and Mrs. John
Strong will arrange for the enter-
tainment.
Lunch was served at the close of
the meeting and the banquet ,fitom-
mittee held a short meeting,

College last week it was decided
that the, official title of Bishop-
elect Harold IP. Appleyarcl will be
Bishop of Georgian Bay. The new
title Will 'be ratified when 'the blab-
ops convene in January for the
consecration of Bishop-elect Apple-
yard.

BELMORE
The November meeting of Bel-
more United Church VMS was held
Wednesday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. Norman Newans, with 12
ladies present. Mrs. Ira Neil was
leader and opened' the meeting
With the singing of a hymn. Bible
reading was given by Mrs. Double-
dee, Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Sim-
mons, followed with prayer by
Mrs, Neil.
Roll call was a verse on peace
and was well responded to. Mrs.
Pace gave a reading from the
Missionary Monthly, Peter Newans
then sang a solo—"It Took a Mir-
acle". Mrs. John 'Harper gave a
reading on temperance, Mrs. Wil-
fred Johann gave the first chapter
in the new study bood "Witnessing
Together".
The president, Mrs. Harry Mul-
vey, took over the businessTart of
the meeting, The secretary, Mrs. L.
Metcalfe, read the minutes of the
last meeting which were adopted
as read, after which Mrs. Pace took
charge of the election of new 1 of-
ficers for the coming year. Mrs. 1
Neil closed the meeting with t
prayer.
