FORDWICH Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Holt •were pleasantly sur-
prised Saturday night at the home
of the latter's sister, Mrs, Dora
Ridley, by relatives on the occa-
sion of their 25th Wedding anni-
versary,.
They were given a service for
eight of stainless steel cutlery. We
would join with their friends in
extending best wishes.

dance was held in the Fordwich
community hall in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Perry , Strong, when
friends, oeighbors and relatives
from Gorrie and Fordwich present-
ed them with a wrought Iron kit-

Escorted, down the aisle by her
father, the bride was radiant in a
gown of white peau de sole and
chantilly lace, The gown was fash-
ioned on a tight fitted bodice and
long lily point sleeves and sweet-
heart neckline studded with sequins
and pearls, The shirt had an over-
skirt of chantilly lace comin g to a
nointat •back over net, and white
man de sole bouffant skirt. Her
fingertip illusion veil was' capght
to a headdress of tulle embroidered
with net flowers, pearls and sequin,
trim.. She carried a bouquet of
oran ge delight roses and white'
carnations. He r veil and headdress
were "something borrowed", and
"somethin g old" was a heart shaped
rhinestone locket and earrin gs.
Jean Leach, of Hespeler, was
maid of honor, with Dorothy Bagg,
of Guelph, as• bridesmaid, and
Brenda Tschariz, sister of the bride,
as flower girl, The two senior at-
tendants wore identical street
length gowns of mauve organza
over taffeta, fashioned on simple
lines with softly gathered skirt,
cap sleeves, scalloped neckline, and
cummerbund of 'purple satin with
large bow at back. Thei r •head-
dresses were dainty white nylon
petal feathered hats studded with
pearls and net. The flower girl was
gowned in pink nylon flowered
organdy, with headdress of white
roses.
Harold Higgins, of Galt, was best
man,, with Donald 'Doig, of Galt,
and Ronald Tschan z, brother of the
bride, acting as ushers. •
For the reception at the Cosy
Restaurant party room, and later
at the borne of the bride's parents,
the bride's mother received wear-
ing a mauve brocaded satin sheath,
with matching jacket, and black
and white accessories, and corsage
of pink and white carnations. To
assist, the bridegroom's mother
wore a sheath of purple lace over
taffeta, hat of gold feathers and
corsage of bronze mums.
A honey :beige brocaded sheath
and brown fur jacket, with acces-
sories of green and brown, were
the choice of the bride for her
motor trip to Michigan. She wore a
corsage of bronze mums and or-
ange delight roses.
On their ,return, Mr. and Mrs. Al-
drich will live at .R, .R, 5, Grand
River Park, Galt.
Guests were present from Alma,
Fergus, Guelph, Toronto, Galt,
Parker, Listowel, Gorrie, Fordwich,
Atwood and Paris.

home of the bridegroom's mother,
Mrs. Richard Aldrich.
The Young Peoples' Club of
Hespeler United Church, presented
the bride, with a hammered alum-
inum Cookie plate and cake plate.
The chOir of the chutch, of which
Mrs. Aldrich is a member, made
the presentation of a, lazy Susan.
